Except in Canada it's usually a good thing when the government creates programs as they usually benefit the populace in a tangible way, which is what I meant.
Is this like the war on drugs? that worked out well ... I think your first problem before you even described anything else was that you want a 'WAR' you could have worded it alittle better and regardless .. we would have still seen thru how stupid a idea it is ... where does your globalization program of mixing cultures stop?
Well I watched a good show last night on the human family tree. Genetically we are all 99.9% alike. We all came from africa and the only reason some people have white skin is because their skin lighted up from the enviroment they were living in after migrating out of Africa. We are literally ALL brothers and sisters and there is only one race. The human race. There need be no war. Just the truth told.
We're part of the same race but the different human cultures are vastly different and have disagreements based on ideas and resources. That's why there's war.
Umm.. not here in America. It's rednecks that hate blacks because of their skin and then there are blacks that hate whites because of what some of us did. And lots of people in america are "fine" with african americans as long as they don't marry white people based solely on because the color of their skin. Yet in reality the color of the skin is just like hair or eye color. I hear it and see it all the time.
What does that have to do with war between nations? Did you mean to say conflict between individuals? If so, there would still be conflict if we were all the same race. It just wouldn't be racial conflict.
I'm talking about what the original poster said. Did you read it? I was just saying that we are all one race and that it's proven.
You said that there's no need for war because we're all one race. I said that you're wrong, as war that isn't an issue of race exists and is even more prevalent than racial warfare.
You say we should fight a war against racism, but in truth what you are doing is promoting racism yourself! Discriminating against marriages between people of the same race is racism, as is discriminating against mixed marriages. There was an opposite to what you are suggesting (a few in fact) : Apartheid being only one of them. You have a lot of passion in your cause, that I believe, but in order to fight for your cause you should find out more about it, go out and actually TALK to people. You don't control who you fall in love with, be it white with white, white with black etc So why should the law? L_S
one of my BIGGEST gripes with our current culture is that the only way people seem to know how to "fix" things is to declare war on them. war is not the answer
I agree. Why don't we just laugh at them. Trouble is they resort to killing innocents many times. But I agree war doesn't solve the problem. They should be held personally and individually responsible. For me those like that judge that wouldn't marry the interracial couple are just plain laughable. I wouldn't live in a local where he was indicative of the government.
Racism is wrong. So you believe the answer is destroying freedom? We would no longer be free to marry whom we wished? Racism is wrong, but I'll keep my freedom, thank you.
ya. I'll even go as far as to say people should be free to hate whomever they wish. As long as they aren't infringing on the freedoms of others then it really doesn't matter.
Will you go to war to insure it or would you rather wage a campaign against it like was waged against tobacco? Actually a war against racism makes as much sense as a war against terrorism and stands as good a chance of ever reaching a winning solution. But a campaign to change public sentiment against such things is a much more powerful tool. But the military industrial complex hasn't found a way to infilitrate movements of that type for profit yet. Or we'd see their promotion. Civil rights was never a war it was a movement. A very powerful important movement with no profit motive.
Racism won't go away as long as we have Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson using it as an industry. They make their living on racism, and they will never let it die. Otherwise, it would render them irrelevant. There are others, but those two come immediately to mind.
If we (people against racism/discrimination/etc) pushed for a law like this we'd be essentially the same thing as a racist (or nearly). That would make us no better then the people and ideas were trying to get rid of. No one can choose who they fall in love with and we shouldn't want to influence their choices anyway. We just want the old ways of thinking gone. Just treat everyone fairly, and get with the times. It's a new day. There are no other rights then EQUAL rights.
