To be honest I've never gotten that thing about "live every day as if it's your last"... I mean... if this was my last day I would go craaaazy! I would blow all my money, see the world, get totally stoned and wasted and see all my friends and... I sure am not going to do all THAT every day! It would be exhausting!

I eat a lot of meat haha, I like the protein.

I would get that protein from soy or whatever but.. most of the veggie protein sources aren't very healthful, or my stomach doesn't agree with them (I have some tummy probs ._.).

Due to having a sensitive stomach right now, meat and rice and things are amongst a relatively small group of truly safe foods. Probably because we've been eating meat for a very, very long time during our evolution as a species.

That's probably the same reason why they taste so good to us :)

Didn't we spend a very, very long time eating it cold? Why do we feel the need to heat it up now? Strange!

Ok, so maybe you don't get that phrase. That's not exactly what I mean by that. I mean.....YOLO. haha. I'm not going to put off doing something that I really want to do because you never know when its going to be too late. I know A LOT of dead people. I don't want to be on my death bed thinking about the things I should have done. I want to be on my death bed thinking about how awesome my life was and how lucky I was to live it and do everything I wanted to do.

Have you ever taken a probiotic for your stomach issues? You should look into it. They are amazing natural pills that help get your gut right. Do some research. Basically anytime you take an antibiotic for anything it flushes all of the good bacteria out of your gut. You need that good bacteria to help break down food and process everything. Probiotics help produce that good bacteria again. It also helps with things like acid reflux, heartburn, allergies, immune system...basically everything. We get them from our chiropractor. My husband calls it the "hippie pharmacy" because its all holistic but it really really works. I encourage you to look into it.

I didn't think we ever ate meat cold... did we? o_O

Yeah I'm very into natural remedies. I'm 99% sure that my tummy probs are caused by dysbiosis or Candida. I don't tend to take probiotics, but am currently taking grapefruit seed extract, eucalyptus, bromelain, oregano oil, stuff like that. I dunno, it's complicated. Probiotics are interesting though yeah :)

And yeah this convo has gotten quite deep for a post about the new LTJ album and for only 3 people!

    I don't eat meat...

'The functional DNA of modern humans and Neanderthals diverged 500,000 years ago'

We don't + They did = They died out (We lived on)

All I meant is that we have probably been cooking meat for an insanely long time, maybe even the entire time we've been eating it. Therefore it makes sense that we like the taste of cooked meat...

Have you gone gluten free? There is a book called Wheat Belly that is supposed to be really good about going gluten free and I think that is supposed to help with Candida. I may be wrong but that is what is coming to mind.

haha actually I think the most popular anthropological view is we just all interbred.

In a massive orgy, naturally. xD

Perhaps that was the first "summer of love" lol

Who doesn't want to have sex with their brother/sister? hahahaha.

True story, I dated my step brother in high school. We were NOT step siblings at the time. Our dads were best friends. We dated for a while. Did a few things that you shouldn't do with your sibling (short of sex). We each had a parent die and now our surviving parents are together. Strange, right? Apparently its not normal to invite your ex boyfriend, his wife and kids to Christmas but that's how my family rolls. hahaha. Strange fact about me! How is that for a change of subject in the LTJ topic. hahaha

But step sibling means you're not actually related.. right? Like, no blood relation?

And I didn't mean INbreeding!! lol

I meant interbreeding, like we mated with Homo sapiens neanderthalensis (yeah I had to check that!) and created a mix of the two species.

The other theory is that we all had a big fight!

But I think interbreeding is more likely, personally.

Correct, we don't actually share blood. That doesn't make it any less weird to have someone that you have.....well....ummmm......yeah, he's my step brother and I've ummmm......nevermind.

Got ya with the interbreeding thing. I'm glad I wasn't responsible for anything back then. I don't know how I would have felt about that. Coming from someone that just made those comments about her own step brother. haha

lol well.. yeah I can understand it's still weird. At least there was no blood relation though!

And yeah erm, I don't really know for sure how neanderthals disappeared. I don't think anyone knows for sure. I was always taught in Anthropology that we thought it was either a fight or interbreeding when we came together again after being separated (they were in Europe, we were in Africa). This is just what I was told though. I studied paleoanthropology for a bit.

Less Than Jake probably have big Pez dispensers backstage xD

I don't know if I mentioned this before but I am often reminded when listening to LTJ of this time around a friend's house when I put on this song nice and loud:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vt7JDDpxVaM"]Less Than Jake - Bridge and Tunnel Authority - YouTube

And his little sister who was only very young at the time, maybe 5 or 6, got all excited and started jumping around! xD

It was SO cute! And reminded me that the style of music they play is so accessible I mean... there was me at the time I was 22 years old, and this little girl was about 5, and we were both enjoying exactly the same song! So cool!

I'm not sure how impressed her mum was though as she was all jumping around outside the door and it was apparently RIGHT before her bedtime! Whoops!

Anywho erm, yeah, amazing band, in my top 3 of all time with no question :)
