My girlfriends sister is a lesbian, her and he wife have been trying various ways of having a child. They dont have alot of money so rather than using a proper sperm clinic, they have been using various websites that provide men who donate sperm very cheaply, as dodgy as that sounds it is legit.

The method they have been using is trying to insert the sperm in to her (the sister) after it has been donated. They have been trying for months and it has not worked, they now have no money left to carry on with this method!

My girlfriend has mentioned the possibility of me donating sperm to her sister for free, something that i dont think i have a problem with. The other issue is that my girlfriend feels that the best way is to have proper sex rather than using other methods. (i should mention she is bi, but has happily married a woman)

So my questions are, can two people have sex just for the sake of conceiving a baby without it having any damaging effects on either couples involved and is the fact their child going to technically be mine going to cause issues in the future!?

A weird one this, but that is the situation we are in!

    thanks for reading.

I'm guessing this is a troll post, but if not, you should probably meet with a lawyer before going ahead with anything like this.

The key bit I'm reading here is 'my girlfriend'.

It's not really her decision, it's yours.
You could split with your girlfriend and still want some contact with the child.
Obviously, if that was what was settled on.
Or you could just do the deed and walk away.
It's obviously going to cause some issues for as long as you are with your girlfriend, one way or another.
It's going to cause as many issues as you all make happen.
Obviously sometimes there are no issues, sometimes a few issues and sometimes there are major issues.
It's impossible to know at this stage.
We don't know any of you.

Personally, I would not go near this with a six foot barge poll.

after thats done it doesnt really matter how the fishies get in there..though i suspect there would be a lot of emotional distress if it was done the natural way.

As a gay girl myself I've had to reach a decision in life which prevents me from mothering children. My sexuality and lifestyle prevent the consummation with the appropriate life giving equipment and I understand that I cannot give birth this way.

I will not seek sperm donation or anything like this because that I believe that to be selfish. I gave up children a very long time ago.

I also have problems with it. It's not common sense or gender equality. Homosexuals can't continue the existence of our species or our bloodline. It stops with us. The whole point of living is to survive and continue the bloodline. Every creature lives by this rule. If my ways aren't conventional then I shouldn't be able to be equal to anybody else.

    That's just my thoughts.

In the big scheme of things.
And that's still one species of creature.

I was only commenting on us. I would imagine most other creatures do not have a concept of a 'bloodline'. As a reason not to have children where one of the parents is not 'blood' it is a piss poor one. Especially given adoption and fostering. If you don't want children that is fine. Us creatures will survive.
But you brought a touch of lunacy to this thread, imho.

I bring lunacy to everywhere I tread!

All the good animals and mammals migrate for breeding purposes. If we belong to monkey family the I don't associate us with insect or anything, just other animals that have similar breeding techniques to us.
