Dustin Hoffman played Lenny Bruce in 1974 and he did a great job. Lenny Bruce was a forward-thinking, progressive, radical, innovative comedian and activist back in the 1960's. He spoke out against racism, police brutality, women's rights, and censorship before it was popular to do so. Anyone who wants to be inspired by the actions and words of a true revolutionary, check this film out as soon as possible. It's one of Dustin Hoffman's best films by far.
Saw it and I agree. This is one of the two most underrated movies in Hollywood history (the other one is The King of Comedy with De Niro). I'm not a huge fan of Lenny Bruce, but I like the way Hoffman portrayed him.
