the trapped youth in the uni campus are fuckin abseiling in an attempt to escape - this is like watching a Mad Max movie!! mainland china are still saying we are committed to a one country to system state - how coy of them, whilst they continue to abuse the muslim communities in the far north!
Well HK seems to have waned a bit and the youth maybe giving up on it all - the police will be persistent and NOT give up so something must eventually give and it will be IMO the youth. they have lost general support from the community IMO
I think it is calming down?? defending HK had turned into destroying it - the scales must be balanced!
I will search our news. My beloved Hong Kong has become a war zone and daily life is full of anxiety Hong Kong protesters attempt sewer escapes
well attempting sewer escapes reminds me of escaping rats!! - they put up a hard fight but it became disjointed - China did well to wait with patience! - Donald Trump claims he controlled China??
tomorrow sunday - are the local elections - that will be serious to watch - it will either go quietly or not and masks have been banned again - I often think of my days in honkers - such joy and fun and often busy busy!
In Hk the very rich and very poor worked seven days a week ; the rest of us worked five and a half - most saturday afternoons I sailed in HK harbour in an enterprise! - and later it could be party time. The kids were often herded together in someones flat with an armah and we then hit the nightclubs ; sleazy joints or someones birthday scene. but sundays were always the highlight of fun or just shear exhaustion! more later
55 Gorgeous Photos That Capture Everyday Life of Hong Kong in the 1970s ~ vintage everyday my 70's HK
they tell me there are no more big junks sailing in HK harbour these days - wot a shame. but heh the new elections are proving exciting - pro-democracy winners all the way that will annoy China. One of our chinese aussie nationals was offered 1 million dollars to infiltrate the liberal party and spy for china - he refused and was found dead a week later in a Melbourne hotel room - charming! the above pic is a sampan - kids and dogs are roped up to stop them falling in !
the local elections have been a resounding victory for democracy and the students of HK but what does China and HK govt do - nothing - just stares blindly into autocracy!
