I have fond memories and what is happening now is unprecedented in many ways - it's like the destruction of a planet. None of them are now capable of negotiation - it is rolling out of control and mainland china will step in eventually - HK is now a chinese suburb of Beijing!
i don't like for profit theme parks, or their themes. something like a theme park could be nice though, without the loudness, without the crowds, but the density of infrastructure they have for attractions. infrastructure is civilization. that and respect for the beauty and wonders of nature. the latter being unfortunately what 'theme' parks generally lack. but it IS the environment of minimal form factor that i find most aesthetic. that and welcoming nature's diversity by not assuming, and there's little enough actual basis upon which to do so, our own species to be the end and purpose for which all else exists. little trains and little houses, no two of the houses being alike, because no one told the need permission or to indenture themselves, to the pretense of owning land on which to build. as few trees cut down as possible, and everything reusable, nothing 'singe use' except maybe medical instruments. there is a world we can have, when our lives aren't about trying to impress each other. and when we outgrow emotional dependence on doing so, we can all have our own bubbles, if that's what we want, without the cost of anything more or else then to do so. the universe is a park, with little solar powered narrow gauge railways being the theme, to rest our weary feet to ride around on. no pavement wider then a place to keep the mud off your shoes when you walk, and there's nothing golden about the rectangles we would no longer have to live in.
if i were a god, i would give everyone everything they want (as long as it didn't involve hurting or robbing each other), once. then i would go to sleep out in the woods, which wouldn't matter because no one could see me anyway.
If I were God the only thing I would give everyone is abundant , absolute 100% love - in that way ensuring absolute kindness to all living creatures ; caring and sharing ; no need for poverty ; no wars ; all sharing ; no greed ; no need for poverty or neglect of abandonments etc etc - add your own lists
The real beginning of the fall of HK! latest news report is that the Chinese LIberation Army are now on the streets of HK, not invading, not fighting but in a stance of stealth. The are helping to clean up the streets - how humble of them ; how contrite ; how bullshit of them. Remember this as the first step of the 'swallowing up' amoebic style of HK back into the heavenly kingdom of China. The end has started and those poor helpless youth don't stand a chance! Watch this space!
the latest comment re above - "no one knows whether they were invited in or just strolled in to help - we a stupid news cast - they have been waiting in their border barracks for a long time watching - this was well planned for sure. We do we think they jogged in un-uniformed with smiling faces and shovels and bins in hand - "to clean up the filth of HK"!! - China declares it has 100% faith in the HK president - bullshit - she couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery!
there is no ideology that works for anything other then making excuses for doing things in ways that prevent life from being enjoyable and rewarding for everyone. some of us at least though, can imagine the world we would have, if people didn't convince each other to have logic and consideration, nor to put symbolic accumulation, and trying to impress each other by doing so, ahead of the kind of world we all have to live in. the root is not ideology but culture. and by that i don't mean there's any one perfect or even superior culture either, but as long as culture is advisarial, and that advisarialness is perpetuated, that is where all the corruptions, distructiveness and unpleasantness in this world comes from, and that's really, its simple logic, that doesn't take rocket science to see, when people don't blind themselves and each other to it. we've all been conned into pointing fingers, and sure there are plenty of place to point them, some of which deserve for this, but by itself, that's not a solution, nor is ideology nor even belief. culture begins with our own choice of priorities, not what we say, but what we, knowingly or not, life by. and we can learn to know, individually and personally, what we are actually living by, and a lot of that, most of that we can choose, and by so choosing, that's what makes the statistic. i can never know, to whom what i'm saying is old news they've simply choosen to ignore, or if they've actually not ignored it and are guiding their life by it, or if they've chosen to be indifferent to it, in the mistaken belief it is to their personal advantage to ignore it, or if they even think they're doing the world a favor by doing so. therefor this is not a judgement of any person, but it is, whatever anyone believes or doesn't, the real universe we live in. the only reason i keep saying things, that must be obvious to at least some people, is because so many people, act like they're not.
the lines have now been crossed - here we have Chinese fighting Chinese and more to come. The HK govt in my humble opinion have been remiss, stubborn and incapable of solving social problems. The young people needed to talk but have never been invited to do so around a round table! - the time for peaceful dialogue has passed - dangerous weapons are now being used by Chinese against Chinese as they were in the Tienamen Square. The young people have certainly gone to far as have the police but the govt never far enough. Unless this is soon resolved the PLA will deal with it and can almost envision it before it starts. A cease fire could be called but as i was told when first entering HK many years ago - once you arouse the sleeping dragon beware.
