Zeppelin is probably my third favorite band but I would definetly vote them the greatest rock band of all time. Here's why: How many bands out there can claim to have a musician who is arguably the greatest at their instrument of all time? A handful. How many can claim TWO??? All I can think of is Zep. Plant can certainly belt out a song and has one of the most unique and recognizable voices out there, and JPJ is a phenomenal basist, but look at the other two - as far as I'm concerned there are only a few guitarists who were ever even in the same league as Page, and Bonham was likely the greatest there ever was. Just listen to "In my time of dying". Pay close attention to the how closely Page and Bonham are tied in that song.
