im protective to, its a zeppelin thing

 

It is a Zeppelin thing...i think EVERYONE who likes Zeppelin is going to be at least a little protective of them... I rage with anger when someone is talking shit about them, becuase i have so many things to say back, but its also really hard becuase the music is so hard to explain in words, its that good!

 

I love Zeppelin, but there are alot of better bands out there as well.

 

That's not totally true, but I can see your point... I'm not like it .. I'm pretty comfortable within my tastes..

 

but don't you get at least a little bothered when someones saying negative things against your favourite band or something?

 

Why should I? Everyone has different tastes and opinions.. Who am I to say everyone should love Zeppelin and not say a bad word about them?

 

I was raised listening to my mom & dads music!
Like Zeppelin,Sabbath,Creedence Clearwater,Rolling Stones,Motley Crue etc...I hate all of todays music,it sucks,everyband sounds the same,no distinct sound with any band anymore,they all just sound the same,and well that doesn't turn me on.

Like when you hear Zeppelin you know it's fuckin' ZEPPELIN and they sound nothin' like The Stones or Foghat etc...Thats what I like about 60',70,even 80's music.No band sounded alike!

 

I agree with you 110 %. Couldnt have said it better myself. its true, todays music has...what...like....4 chords in a song that keep repeating... back then everyone had their OWN sound, and they didnt really try to copy anybody else, rather they were inspired.

Zeppelin take you on a trip mann...just listen to them...

 

As much as i like them and acknowledge their power i cant stand how overrated they are and im getting bored of them always winning 'best rock bands' polls. At the end of the day for people who arnt big fans their and about 5 or 6 clear hits. The same with me and The Who where i love every song and think they are the best. But being realiastic as far as ive seen (especially amongst young audiences) Queen seem to rule the roost.

In my personal opinion, Led Zeppelin kinda... sucks. I mean, the only special thing they ever did was "Stairway". The rest was pretty dull and boring, nothing remarkable at all. I've tried to like them, and I've tried to discover that what all you guys think is so amazing about them, but I can't seem to get in it.

To me, Led Zep is pretty medicore.

well....led zeppelin will always be criticized....it's no different from the rolling stone magazine and the punks of the 70s....you just ignore them....and the poeple who say Zep just plain suck and are boring obviously haven't listened with at least a hint of interest....the same thing for me was with the yardbirds.....i heard some songs but overall.....i just wasn't into it.....but one nite when i was bored to death i really wanted to see what the hype was about in the yardbirds music......i never turned back since.....

these people who mock Zep only know for zoso or Zep 2, have no concept of tunes like Tea for One, the Rover, Tean Years Gone, Poor Tom or Nobobdy's fault but mine. it goes for all rock bands. i hate the stones cause the same damn songs over and over were repeatedly heard as a kid. but their b-sides ain't half bad, good even. ya know what i mean?

 

There's no need to even fret... It's obvious that not everyone is going to like Zeppelin... Everyone has their own tastes...

Millions of people love the Grateful Dead but I don't like them.. Just like I love Zeppelin and millions of people don't.. It's just the way it oughta be..

Exactly. The very reason there are so many kinds of music is because many people have different tastes. And that's just all right, you know... I mean, how many times have I heard bands I like really much being 'dissed' (if that's the word).

I was just expressing my amazement that I don't seem to be able to see anything special about Led Zeppelin, while a lot of people around me (including very good friends) with largely the same taste in music as me love them. They recieve a lot of praise. And mostly it seems that I like popular/big stuff (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones), but Led Zeppelin is an exeption to that. I was surprised that i didn't like them, that's all.

But don't say i didn't listen enough. I listened to nearly all their albums at my friend's place (a big fan), and there was nothing appealing. I listened many time to the drum-solo of "Moby Dick" that everybody says is so great, yet I found it to be a boring and uninspired piece of music.

If you think so, that's fine with me. They don't seem to be too popular (at least not compared to Led Zep), but I think they're the greatest ever. Just don't trash The Who just because I like them. That would be childish.

 

I was going to ask whether that was a cheap shot, or do you really not think much of The Who... lol
