I was never into Black Sabbath growing up. My mate is so I gave it a chance. And I would have to say that I enjoy BS more than LZ now a days.....perhaps I have been Zepplined out
Zeppelin for sure, I don't even think these bands should be compared because both are classics in and around themselves. I like zeppelin simply because, well, I don't know, because its awesome!
Best Sabbath for me are the albums where they didn't had the metal sound yet. Also in the rock department I think they're better then Led Zeppelin, although Zepp may had a more intense stage performance and catchier rock songs, Sabbath was far more original and unique. Those riffs came mostly just from Iommi's mind, while Zeppelin borrowed massively from the blues department. Not saying that it's a bad thing, but yeah, it counts for me. In the end it's just about how you personally dig the sound of course and I dig both, but just love some things Black Sabbath did more. Easily
Led zep then ozzy sabbath then deep purple I could never deny JPJ and Paiges beautiful compositions Genius right there Sure sabbath is good but their arranging wasnt shit compared to zeps
I would definitely have to say Black Sabbath. Considering how they have influenced so many bands I listen to as well, it's impossible for me not to say BS. I never really liked Led Zeppelin very much, just a handful of songs. But honestly the same could be said about Sabbath. In the end their handful of songs I prefer over LedZeps.
Black Sabbath are the fathers of metal, in my opinion. even though Led Zeppelin were heavy as well. but Deep Purple is left in the dust compared to these two. love them all, though
Personally I think Deep Purple makes a bigger impression on me than Led Zeppelin. That I rank Sabbath above both of them is not because they influenced future hard rock so much but just because they suit my personal taste more. Zepp and Deep Purple both are a really big influence for heavy metal as well.
Zeppelin aren't even metal, their classic fuckin rock if anything. Wich doesn't make them bad their fuckin sick but Sabbath are the gods that made metal what it is today. Tony Iommi is the man
Zeppelin, all the way. I love Sabbath, but they don't compare to Zeppelin. I don't even know why Deep Purple would be compared to either of them.
