    I always try to leave open a little window for things that are a little far fetched, Tundra. I have seen things myself that bring me looks of unbelief when I have shared them. I try to keep the wierd stuff to myself to keep from being labeled a crackpot.
    I have found that there is a little truth in every myth.

    Shameless;
    Well the day left me a hardened, street wise cynic but I still do not blow off wild claims out of hand. I do demand evidence. I do have some pretty wild claims from back then myself, including meeting God by a lake in Western Wisconsin in'70. Unfortunately the only evidence I have is subjective. People do comment on what a wholly different person I am from the rest of my family of orgin however. It wasn't always so.

    There was an account of a Hell's Angel who had a similiar experience in the Hunter S. Thompson book. I mostly have not talked about it but to a few people, but I gotta say I never looked at things the same after that. Western Wisconsin? Why not? I am not sure where the divine thing has moved to in this day and age but I was looking at SunAngel's photos on the photoshare a couple years back and those Polish kids certainly seemed lit up.

    Funny you mentioned it, Tundra Hopper, but I just started rereading Thompson's "Hell Angels" last night. It must be 15 years since I read it last, so it's almost like reading it for the first time except I know how it ends.

    Thudly,
    It's been about thirty years with me-good read though. How it ends is kind of typical of how all those "hipsters hanging with criminals' things turned out It does sound worth another read though-maybe next time I ride a plane. Something about being 30.000 feet in a tube always makes me uneasy and a good read does help.

    Hi all,

    SH I liked your poem too. Do you -or anyone around your place- play music?

    When I was reading your posts I keep getting similar pictures in my head to the ones I get when I read my girls the Little House on the Prarie books, and I always love the parts where Pa brings out the old fiddle.

    peace and love

    I used to play guitar, but had a job related accident and broke my neck and screwed up my right arm, having to have 5 surgeries that left my hand unable to pick and grin.

    We are very rustic looking, but we have all the modern conviences in the house. The barn on the other hand is where everyone gathers, at the square table outside by the bbq pit under a tree. My people are outdoorsmen, hunting and fishing and farming is what keeps us alive.

    When it's too cold to sit under the tree we go inside the barn where there is a woodburning stove to keep us warm while the men dress out the deer. It is our way of life. It's an honest and a good life. It's the natural way of living. We raise our animals and keep a clean place. We are simple people with simple needs. We live civilized but are just as comfortable in a tent beside a river or lake in the wilderness. We are Country and will survive.

    Bright Blessings
