I am not angry with you. I am too lazy to hold a grudge. I am just a head on a 14 inch screen. An IQ of 6000 and a glass of lemon tea that hasn't been drunk in over a million years.

with the current exchange rate, 7quid is the equivalent of $14 an hour.

basically just always multiply by 2 when converting UK monies to American monies

Yes I agree. I make more than that but I have to sit in my office all day. For $6 less an hour I might give it a try. Ok it's off to England then. I wonder what part these fields are in ? I don't know what we pay our pickers here but I don't think it is that good.

Same thing happened to me. Oh I was not pregnant but I have sciatica from playing tennis. Damn tennis never got me anything but a bad back. But I am taking a machine to do the pickin. They have these things you know. Wonder why England didn't figure that out yet. Oh well maybe when they see mine they will get it. If you come you can use my machine too. Then we won't have to do anything but get paid and run around in our underware.

I would jump at the chance to earn seven quid an hour.i grew up being forced to work government schemes,where we all got £25 - £35.00 a week.

 

Can I do my bit to dispel the myth that eastern European workers somehow graft harder or better. They don't, every one I have ever had the misfortune of working with has been both work-shy and stupid, and I frequently come across them in the service industry where there lack of English skills is such a barrier to customer service that you wonder how they ever got the job.

As for 84 hour weeks, Ive worked weeks so long you'd call 84 hours half day Friday. But wait a minute I though there was European legislation to prevent us working longer than 48 hours, and that the UK is frequently reprimanded for ignoring this wholesale. It seems people are quick to forget when it comes to the work ethic of the British people, you need only find so lazy teenager and shout 'lo the British are lazy, lets hire some poles.

 

Polish workers are said to be the best. Actually it is the Germans. They have the strong work ethic. Still I aint complaining.
I have nothing against immigrants, but employers are increasingly undercutting the indigionous lot for the foreigners. Now this is not the foreigners fault, more like the employer who is willing to exploit desperate foreign workers for his or her own gain. Welcome to the future. And re Brits being lazy. The truth is, many Brits are undercut and jobs are usually thwart with even more competition. Despite the new Point system, yet again, Britain will get even more saturated. British people will become unemployed. And then when Hell's Britain finally arrives, even those who would disagree with this very thread would suddenly get epiphany, a deep realisation that yes, there was a problem and it was allowed to get worse. And oh God what the bloody hell do we do now. Like the rule of the Cosmos, no living thing learns the easy way. We have to go through the land of ignorance before we know any better. Yes, we welcome immigrants, but too many isn't a good thing. Brits are no lazy, they were self efficient nation, then came the EU.
