now the lava is all at the top and part of it is solid around the outside where it touches the glass but liquid in the middle. its plenty hot but now it won't move from the top. shaking it a bit made a small peice of lava go to the bottom but the bulk of it is at the top and stayin' there.
If you ever get this working, or you get a new one, you might want to put it on a timer switch so that it only runs part of the day. You may want to ask yourself how much value that lava lamp creates for you versus the aggravation/electrical/other costs. Tossing the motherfucker and not giving a fuck could be the answer.
depending on what a new bulb costs to see if it is that, that is what i would do....^ I had a lava lamp once and stupidly mailed it back from CA to NY with all my other stuff....and it lost all of its liquid in the travel.....
I had a lamp that did that. So I shook it and all the wax disintegrated into spectacles. I also found there was a wire ring around the bottom. Not too sure what this does. Once it all reformed it seemed to work a bit better but definitely not like when I first bought it. I have two large lamps now that are almost my height on stands. They're red wax and real triply when they first start like fetus in a glass jar sometimes.
disintegrated into "spectacles" ... im confused lol. yeah, all lava lamps have that wire ring im pretty sure. i made sure that that thing was placed properly at the bottom, it didn't help. i think its mainly there to give the lava something to stick to at the bottom and spread the heat from the lamp evenly.
Yeah. Like sand. When they're hot give it a shake and you'll see. The wax completely falls apart into grains.
I think someone was trying to make a joke. Aladdin’s Lamp, I Dream of Jeannie, the Genie of the lamp….etc. Hotwater
