Well like I said with you being new and all. She had real hot lips, but she did not want to leave Canada. She wanted to open a bar there. I was kind of floored she did not take the hint. Meh, welcome to Hip forums anyway.
i separate flimsy fabrics from stiff fabrics so the flimsy ones don't rip or get twisted out of shape. but i don't separate colors. i always wash everything in cold, so nothing runs. and it saves energy.
I dont do my laundry these days..but when I do on occasion, I make sure they are seperated, cause I like bleach in my whites
bleach makes whites turn yellow, and it degrades the fabric. plus it's a harsh chemical. arm and hammer baking soda detergent + cold water works better than ANYTHING i've ever tried.
but it smells so clean..I wear white tshirts everyday as an undershirt..but I am always willing to try something new..Arm and Hammer baking soda detergent and cold water..I only typed it, cause I want to remember it..is it ever on sale? I have put the same stuff minus the detergent part in my fridge to keep things fresh.
i'm sure it is on sale sometimes. it's a powder detergent, so it comes in a couple clean scents, or unscented. it's in an orange box. it's like, 10 or 15 bucks (i think) for a big box that lasts us a good 6 months or so.
Thanks for the tip..I think I may even be low on detergent..I will make a thread and try it and give it a review..I hope when I am standing in front of the detergent stoned out of my mind..I will remember to buy it..
hahah! i like it cause it gets everything clean, even in colds, and it has a non-scented kind. cause i don't like scented shit. it even gets the oily lotion out of my massage sheets. that's pretty impressive, in my book. and i rarely have to pretreat stains.
I have to separate hubbys work greasy cook whites from everything else.In fact they have their own basket, and get a NEEDED bleach and a hot cycle(and still don't ever get spotless clean-seriously WTF!) The rest of our laundry get a cold cycle in homemade laundry soap. (with exception of a few hand wash delicates )
no, it's a powdered detergent made by arm and hammer, and it has a lot of baking soda in it, but it's not just straight baking soda. they also have a liquid, but i think liquids don't get clothes as clean, nor are they as cheap.
yeah, grease cook clothes just never get clean again. no matter what you use on them. that's what goodwill is for i guess.
this arm and hammer is flying at me, sparkling not connected to a body just orange ether, reassuring me that all will be clean it makes me giggle
thats why I use bleach..cause I wear white tshirts and socks everyday and I get dirty, dirty everyday doing something..I play and work real rough and dirty...haha..but, yeah, I get dirty and feel that only bleach can get the dirt, grease, mud, sweat, blood..you name it, out
bleach is the only way to get the smell of a seafood kitchen out of the whites. It DOES deteriorate the fabric... his work whites just disappear over time. I haven't found anything to completely get out all kitchen grease (or god knows what else he manages to get on his whites)though.
only thing i know of to truly get blood out of whites is peroxide. dip the offending blood stained fabric into a bowl of hydrogen peroxide and watch it melt away in front of your eyes. it rawks.
