No keylogger scripts that I've seen anywhere here. Sure you're not getting those from somewhere else? Or maybe it's a different internal feature of the site you're not aware of?

No the worst problem we have here is spam.

The reason the database goes down has nothing to do with the gov't, don't know why ppl think that and get paranoid everytime it happens.

It happens because the server is overloaded. Plus we're nearly out of HD storage space on the server (around 2 gigs free - not nearly enough).

Unfortunately I don't have funds at present (and continuously) to pay for upgrades. I priced a second server, which is what we really need, but it would nearly double the present costs (minus bandwidth which doesn't change).

At best I might be able to afford a HD upgrade, but even that might require a longer term contract with our present hosting company than I'm willing to do for various reasons. And I'm not certain whether even a new HD would make a difference.

So we're stuck with the present setup for now. Best I can hope for is an increase in money flowing to the forums so that these upgrades can be done...SOON!

I'm working my ass off trying to add new features to entice new members to support the site. I can only do so much...

But does seem to happen when the going gets rough. I know where I've been and what I've been exposed to.

Never had a problem with them here. Maybe you have a hole in your firewall?

There is one keylogger that most anti-virus programs won't pick up. Because it can be bought "over the counter". http://www.canadiancontent.net/tech/download/BlazingTools_Perfect_Keylogger.html

These are often included in software that you download off the internet like games or screensavers and such. Even driver files are suspect. Anything thats executable.

I use PestPatrol for regular scans.

More than likely, you'd need to click a link from here to another site to pick something up... And anyone could post that up, even inadvertently, cause some websites will screw you over without your knowledge.

All the more reason to have a well configured firewall.

    Don't leave home without it.

And don't use Internet Explorer!!! Most scripts are written just for it.

Perhaps an online fund raiser for a new server is in order? I'd be willing to chip in.

Are you looking to buy new or used? Specs?

I'll buy a used IBM over about anything else out there. Intellistations are hard working monster machines. I paid under $400 for a used one off Ebay. When it was new, just 4 years ago, it cost over $3000!

No burps or farts so far.
