Hell yeah, Baby, ain't nothin' like it for the mind, body, and spirit! Plus there's a feeling you get after training you can't get anywhere else, not from running, swimming, or drugs, 'cause it's kinda like a fusion between a tough physical workout and meditation (my Sensei has referred to it as the "moving Buddha"). It sure feels good after a knock-down-drag-out session of kicks, punches, blocks, and sweat to crack open a nice cold beer and spark one...ahhh...
Hehe, moving buddha And yeah, no better coolant than beer My sensei is pretty weird, he's japanese import first generation
OH man, that situation totally sucks! I didn't read this entire thread (just the first 2 pages). But I have been in a similar situation before. Only mine was with a friend that I trusted and have known for years. He was drunk one night, and he asked me to stay the night at his house. THIS WAS STUPID OF ME!!!! But I had just gotten out of a relationship and thought it'd be nice to cuddle up with someone. I made it clear from the beginning that I did not want to do anything sexual with him. But when we got there, he just kept trying and trying and I kept saying "NO." SO finally I had to literally use full force arms and legs to throw him off of me and I told him I was leaving. We're still friends, but I would probably never spend the night with him again. He's too pushy. I hope you have had time to heal from that night. Be careful from now on!!!! Count this as a lesson learned/bad experience, and try not to put yourself in a dangerous situation like this again. Thank God nothing happened to you!
mellow yellow, good point to bring up about power and, more importantly, control. while shotokan teaches one punch one death (let's face it, if you're surrounded by 6 guys you don't have time to hit anyone more than once!), it also is probably the most demanding as far as control goes. my sensei hits me regularly but is so well trained that he can stop before he touches my skin, as soon as he touches my skin, 1mm into my skin, 1inch into my skin, or all the way through (death! ahh!). not only that, but he can do it all without looking. he likes to stop on the 1mm hairs of my chin... i've sparred with him a couple times and, of course, he isn't trying at all and i'm trying my hardest and throwing everythign i have into him but he also knows how to TAKE punches (he just "sucks it in") so nothing i do can even phase him. he kicks me (gently) in the back of the head while facing me from 5 feet away! wtf. some day..... some day... but yeah, the point is control. i want to have the ability to triple my mass so that i CAN kill someone in one hit if i needed to. in a life/death situation, as you pointed out, there is no time to play games. peace.
I can smash a skull in one kick, but my goal is to be able to in a punch break through the rib cage (not just between bones, that's too easy), I mean with pure raw power break the ribs and turn off what ever makes him live When I spare with my sensei, he normally just points out weaknesses in my technique and my balance stance... When I just spare him as a fight, he 'dumbs down' so I can try out my technique on a 'moving target'. He allways ends up kicking my ass, throwing me into walls and a few meters down the floor when I trip It's 'hardens' me he says... Sick fuck And dealing trippe your mass is not a question of how lethal you are, you just have to hit right... And if 6 guys surround you, you don't have the time to deal 6 lethal kicks, just stun them I have the advantage of jumps and high kicks there I can jump up and knock out three guy, I they are so kind as to position themselves where I want them to be
Once again here we are with more of your conflicting posts. Whatever.. I'm done with this thread as well. It's not worth trying to figure out the situation when somebody keeps changing the story.
But that's a coconut, not a human skull. I have a 285lb+ grip (certified and all) but I can't burst a can filled with a liquid by crushing it with one hand. Nobody can.
trust me, if you can smash a coconut you can at the very least break a human skull, and ofcourse I've never actually smashed a skull, then I'd be writing from prison
No, that's not true. Look at grades of steel - the hardest grades are brittle and shatter - softer grades deform and flex. Guys who bend wrenches (still working on nails) find the harder ones snap in half like a gunshot, others will flex. The flexers are WAY harder. The human skull flexes.
I know I can smash a skull tho, with the ammount of my power I use to smash a coconut and with nothing holding it against my kick it shouldn't be a problem, besides the skull has weakpoints like the temple... And by the way, if we ever meet... remind me not to shake your hand
Actually a hard handshake has little to do with actual grip strength but hand size. Although an EMT once made the mistake of asking me to squeeze his fingers "as hard as I can"
Grip strength is a VERY neglected aspect of strength training. www.ironmind.com look at the Capitains of Crush grippers. I've closed the old and the new #3 with both hands (yeah, I'm on the list) and the harder BBE.
If you want to be TRULY scary get their Thor's Hammer (I think they call it a wrist leverer - basically a one sided dumbbell) and train with it You'll be able to punch THROUGH people after practicing with that.
Hehe, how nice... I happen to a believer in ásatrú (the religion with thor, odin and the rest of that pack) Punch through people ey, bet that looks pretty awesome
its not that i dont like people opinions. I just dont like it when people belittle me and flame me for one little mistake..
just outta curiosity.. where you at underground sound at salt petre cave, illinois? cause i was there... lol
