Fifty are reported dead.

Online video of the attack outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino showed the singer Jason Aldean performing outside at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a three-day country music event, interrupted by the sound of automatic gunfire. The music stopped, and concertgoers ducked for cover. “Get down,” one shouted. “Stay down,” screamed another.

The Las Vegas police said Monday that 50 people were killed and 406 people had been taken to the hospital. The police identified the gunman as Stephen Paddock, 64. Sheriff Lombardo said the police were seeking “a companion” named Marilou Danley, and the authorities later said they were “confident” they had located her.

 

I feel terrible for the victims who died, and also for the wounded, and all their families.

 

This is so awful. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families. Just so sad.

 

Strange... Stephen Paddock doesn't sound middle eastern at all.

 

He was up in the hotel with tons of rifles.

"Paddock was not known to the federal authorities, but was known to local law enforcement,"

It will be interesting to find out why he was know to local law enforcement.

 

That's why it will be a "mental health" issue not at all related to gun laws or a person's ability to buy them. And gun owners will say it's rude and insensitive to suggest otherwise. Another day in America.

Hearing the news replay and replay the automatic gunfire is just haunting. Every bullet that's heard is hitting somebody's mother, father, child or friend.

Im living all day in silence today for the victims.

 

It affects me less the more it happens because nothing changed. Imededilty you get some idiot still making it about "Muslims in Europe". There will be "thoughts and prayers" and then nothing because no one cares if other people die as long as they have a gun. There will be another shooting again in a few weeks. It probably will not make the news it might but it's so common and the bar for a "mass shooting" worthy of the news is pretty high now.

I'm not happy anyone had died but in a country crowd well probably a lot of open carry NRA types. They always say they will save the day when this happens. Well you did not but as I said that will not change anything.

Could be too early to tell if that's the truth or not. Maybe ISIS is just celebrating the incident even if it wasn't done by one of their own.

The shooter's brothers said he has no political or religious affiliation.
