Here is the states, basically you have two types of organized clubs. Landed clubs have private property and building for club activities. Pools etc. Non Landed clubs are a groups of nudist that gather at member homes for social time together. My wife and I have never been to a non landed club, but would like to try one, because we would like to meet like minded nudist in our area. Can anyone here offer their opinion on non landed clubs? What to expect? Etc.
I was a member of a non-landed club for a while. We'd all get together at one of the member's house; and basically rotate between 3-4 people's homes. A few times a year we'd just all meet at a resort. I have an overall good opinion. The emphasis is much more on the "social" than the "recreational"; so there's much more "sitting around chatting." That's not going to be to everyone's liking. When I took my first wife she pretty much hated it compared to the landed resort; because in fact "sitting around in someone's house chatting" naked was not something she found fun. It grew on her though when she found that not everyone's house was the same; and some members actually had beautiful homes that she ended up enjoying visiting. Nudity at non-landed clubs tends to be close to 100% (at least the one I was a member of). A lot of the members have known each other for years so they're way past the point of needing to "acclimate." In conclusion: if you're game to just sit around in someone's living room or backyard patio naked and just chatting for a day or evening; then you might enjoy non-landed nudism. But if you like to run around, swim, volley-ball, etc... then the non-landed club might be a little too boring.
Nudony, Thank you for your response. Because, we are trying to develop more liked minded nudist friends in our area. After discussing your response with my nudist wife, she agreed to give Non Landed clubs a try. Are there any other underlying concerns that you experienced?
Concerns? No; none that I can recall. Just make sure your spouse is ready for that level of "familiarity." Like I said my first wife was initially "daunted" by people just walking right up to her and engaging her in conversation, or sitting right next to her on the couch. She did get used to it; not only that but these interactions were actually instrumental in getting her out of her comfort zone and growing much more comfortable - much sooner - with social nudity. Keep in mind though that non-landed clubs are not all identical in format. Some strictly meet up at nudist resorts; others only at one single location. A phone call to the club "owner" might help you determine the exact format.
This is the first time I have ever heard of the expression, 'landed vs non-landed clubs'. I initially thought it was something to do with the English gentry, but then you won't see them doffing their coats and tales for a soiree in the sun...
Right?? I'd never heard them either until now. Very intriguing! I thought maybe it meant, 'Nudists who got off the boat at Ellis Island' vs 'Nudists who were already here'....? (for those of us in the states, that is)
I belonged to a non landed club for a while. We would rent out an indoor swimming pool in the winter and swim naked twice a month. In the summer we would take trips to nudist resorts together
TanyaSL, Here in the states there are nudist/Naturalist associations where members pay dues. Non Landed is a group of nudist that meet up in homes. However, many nudist like my wife and I are nude in our home most of the time. For the most part “no” public nudity, Some public government managed lands are tolerant to hiking and camping nude. Many people like us find it difficult to find like minded friends to socialize in the nude. So it’s more club or private nudist campgrounds for us. BY the way, I did PM you.
when i was small my parents had a few friends who were nudists and they used to come over and stay nude inside the house with their children, now i am not a nudist but would like to be one again
It is very empowering and free’s you to be happy with own body. I encourage you to pursue and embrace it.
So what is stopping you? at first try sitting around naked or do your housework naked get the feel of it and make sure your at ease with your body, if you are try a beach where others go naked, swim in the sea in the others, its the only way your find out. The best thing I read was if you want to be a naturist go to a naturist beach and take your cloths off, as that all it takes is that first step, I did just that.
The best thing is places you can visit when you wish, without having to become a member, be it a beach, a club, or a spa.
Jack, I'm sort of in-between the two. I have land partially cleared and several times during the warm weather friends bring their rv, mini-van or tent up. I don't really want it too big, but we never have dues and there is nothing to buy. Just friends, families and fun.
We've done some nude camping with others on one of our friends farmland - just folks we knew who were nudists came. Probably about six familes.
I was never a member of a unlanded clup. Just a regular "guest " for a number of times. This group would have month swims. They rented a pool once a month at a hotel where the pool area was connected to the hotel by a glass enclosed walkway. The hotel would cover the door windows at the hotel side of the walkway with a sign that stated that the pool area was closed for a private function. The addition with the pool had male and female locker rooms. But only one side or the other was used for everybody there. And everybody used combination padlocks for their lockers - thus no keys to worry about. Besides swimming they always had other activities going on also in the pool area. Plus refreshments with a donation box to cover the cost if it. So there was a coverage charge and a donation involved for the evening. And if you stayed at the hotel over night you got a room discount. But after I moved, distance wise, it did not make sense for me to continue with that group. .
Thats exactly how the non landed club we went to worked. All the nudist resorts were closed in the winter so we went to these a lot
