commonly defined as a home telephone that is hard-wired into telephone lines......lately I feel like i'm the only one who still has one... has everyone gotten rid of their land lines? and is that the proper use of ''gotten''
I still have one but I'm wondering if it's really worth spending $80.00 per month just for the prestige of having a landline. Like lodog said "its basically a line for the telemarketers" everyone else calls my cell phone hotwater
got rid of it and the expense about 2 yrs ago- - use a 25$ t-mobile flip top for incoming and outgoing- - its all good dont own iPhone,i pads, tablets or even a lap top - just this desk top- - -its all good
That sounds extremely expensive for just that. I can't believe if that's the average price for a landline telephone connection over there people would still like to keep having one.
They eventually don't work if the power goes out either. I would like the security of being able to call out if my power goes out or if I need help. :2thumbsup: PS my phone costs about $50.
We have that covered here as we have solar power and battery back up for when power goes off. Which is quite often out here in the boonies....;-)
We have a land line, which is no surprise (to some of you) since I may well be the only one left with a dial-up internet connection. lol And the land line here costs $55. We have caller ID and a certain amount of "free" long-distance. Also...this land line works when we don't have power...another huge PLUS. In fact, we have a special number to call to report power outages. I do have a TracFone, which I've had several years. I buy minutes and all in all it is not only cheap but worth more than its weight in gold. I text on it and have it when I drive so I'm always able to get help if I have car trouble. I have no interest in getting a smart-phone.
My First Set Of 300 Amper Hours Went For 10 Years, Then I Bought 48 Second Hand That Were Made In 1976 =2000Amper Hours, They Lasted For 26 Years, Then Last Year I Bought A 300 Amper Hour Battery Which Is A Big Step Down From The 2000 Amper Hours Of The Old Batteries. But Nowdays I Vary Rarely Get Visitors, And Most Days I Have A Over Voltage Prob Rather Than A Under One.... Cheers Glen.
