I've considered it, but I highly doubt that I'd look the least bit favorable with a bald head.

Mmm, considering nothing was unfavorable about my hair, probably not. It also depends on the situation. Shaving my head bald as a way of supporting a loved one going through chemotherapy was a good answer. That would be a good reason, and a reason I'd don "the Britney."

I do admit that I have a problem with feeling a bit attatched to my long hair so it certainly would be a great, liberating experience to try to shed the little bits of vanity I was raised to have. Some women look breathtakingly gorgeous bald, too. I mean, I know I personally wouldn't feel I looked beautiful with a shaved head but I suppose that would be the point for me. If I didn't do it out of support of a cancer victim who I love, I'd do it for the empowerment that I'd feel. I think it would be the ultimate slap in the face of vanity for me.

But as of right now, dreadlocks are extremely desirable to me. I want to feel at one with nature in as many ways as I feel I can, and that's one way I feel can keep me grounded. Plus, I feel locks would be another fabulous, liberating slap in the face of vanity.

I hope to soon be initiated into the priesthood of my religion, Lucumi/Santeria. Getting your head shaved is part of the ceremony. I am honestly looking forward to it! My hair has always been thin, fine and stringy. I'll be so glad not to have to worry about it for a year! :gorgeous:

It's very liberating. I like your username. Don't take this the wrong way, but one of our cats is named Pyewacket.

Wow! I have never seen a shaved/buzzed do look so natural and beautiful on a female.

I would probably never do it myself though, unless to support a family member going through chemo. My thick, red, wavy hair gives me a unique look. Sure, if I shaved my head I'd still look unique, but I'm just too damned attached to my hair. Vanity's a bitch.

No way, I love my hair ^_^ I'm growing it at the moment, it's down just past my shoulders. As soon as I finish doing my GCSEs I'm dying it all bright pink, it was pink before but I had to dye it to a 'natural shade' as my school admin are against individual expression.

I might. My mom and sis tell me my hair is beautiful and it would be a shame if I did, but I think about it every now and then. I think I would like it at first, but I don't think I would like it when it was growing out again.

No, most definitely i wouldn't. Especially now, i've been growing it out for a while, its getting quite long now, and i love it! I would never shave it at this point, much less even cut it.

A while ago, maybe say a few years ago, i might have done something like that. But definitely not now.

Right now, I have loooong long Dreadies. But when I got them 7 years ago, I knew, if I wanted to get rid of them some day, I had to shave them off. I don't plan to in the near future, but it's not that I would not want to do it. In fact I love the thought. But I love my dreadies more :-D

i have done it twice so far in life and it was fun. but then i grew it out and would have it long for a bit and then shave again. its down to my shoulders again. shaved it last about 1 1/2 ago. for others i say more power and fun ^_^

i would totally do it. i think it's kind of a testimonial. in my opinion it's like saying "fuck the world that thinks only men can have short hair!" It's a very sexist thing in my opinion! I also support burning bras. (Although, I personally like my bra, keeps my boobs from flopping around!)
