This really only goes for the ladies...

    Speaking from a plutonic standpoint…..
Ladies Only: are you a girls girl or a guys girl?

Do you prefer the company of several girlfriends or to just hang with the guys?

I would say I'm neutral or more towards a "guys girl" simply because I like the low maintenance aspect of friendships with men.

One of my best friends is a guy (who also hangs out mostly with women friends). We've been really great friends for about 9 years. Several times, he's expressed that while he likes his guy friends he prefers the plutonic company of women. I have two other best friends that are females. I love them too but there are so many strings and little rules attached that seem to exist only to placate them.

Annnnd I'm off to Soho. Need to buy new wellies and stockings because the forecast calls for rain this week.

I've always been a guy's girl unintentionally. I just couldn't fit in with the girly girls and never really thought about impressing guys so I could always feel more comfortable with them. I think it has a lot to do with the "ladder theory," so I cherish my girl friends because we can bond and talk on a level that you just can't with a guy.

I am balanced. What that means is I have friends of all genders, and across the masculine/feminine spectrum of behaviours.

I'm not good at navigating all the emotional undercurrents that come along with female friendships. I also generally enjoy "boy" activities more. I love camping, fishing, any excuse to romp around in the woods really. I like seeking out adventure and with the exception of one or two special ladies, I haven't met very many females who are always up for doing the things I like to do.

with that said, I've always valued my friendships with females much more so than with males.

Im a guy's gal. Always have been! Thats not to say I havent got female friends, of course I have. But only a handful throughout my life so far. Lots and lots of male friends. I would like to be more balanced in that department but I find women of my own age or younger incredibly, dare I say.. bitchy? I think this is because I dont easily fit into a box or typical types. Women of an older generation on the other hand I get on swimmingly with!

    A girl's girl.

.... unless it's football. Then men are far more interesting to talk to.

Prefer hanging out with other womyn, I have a problem around men with then trying to make it more than it actually is and then getting angry when I refuse.

Are you talking about straight guys/girls only? Do LGBTQ count too? That kind of puts an additional spin on the question.

Guys girl. I don't mind women but sometimes with some the drama will kill ya. Guys get along with me easily because I have similar interest and will help a guy fix a car and even work on mine to some point, not easy to work on a car like it was on my old camper vans and my 71 T Bird. Until they became harder to find in reasonable shape I always bought vehicles without computers in them. Now they have too many years use on them and everything is computerized.
I usually ended up working in shops with guys rather then where women chose to work when I had a choice in many work places, machine shops were my favorite, or alone on mid shift rather then join the gossip crew on day shift,,, not meant to slam women but it's just easier for me with men.
I do have girl-friends so I am not saying it doesn't happen but these friends are kind of like me in that they could care less about some shit and are also guy's girls kinda people.
Tis why BF loves me, his friends love me and I don't mind hanging with them while they play with their hot rods. As long as I get my share of shot gun.

I prefer hanging out with other women, so I guess that makes me a girls' girl? But I like men's company.

I am more of a guy's girl. Like what Meli said, I prefer doing things that guys like to do more and also just how guys are more laid back usually.
However, except for two guy friends that I've had forever and trust in this way.. I no longer trust guys that I think are just friends to hang out with too much because I've had too many guys that I thought were just great friends hit on me in ways that were... just, yea... don't trust a lot of guys that just wanna be friends and chill.

That's why I said I value female friendships more. I've had a lot of guy friends over the years but with the exception of one long time friend they've all made things awkward by hitting on me at some point. At least you can generally count on consistency in female friendships. My friendships with guys don't ever really stand the test of time.

Men are better at being casual friends or acquaintances, but women are more real friends. It's not as easy to start hanging out with females usually, we tend to be more protective of ourselves and have our guard up...and that's a good thing, but if there is someone who is really compatible, you're likely to be on the same page about maintaining that friendship.

I've had a lot of friendships with guys where I really valued the relationship but it was obvious they didn't. It was just a matter of convenience with them. Men don't seem to have as much integrity or put in as much effort in friendships. For instance, how many guys stop being your friend once they get a girlfriend?

Don't like brainless girly girls. That being said, I'm friends with both genders. In fact, hubby was surprised he could talk to me like I was "one of the guys."
