I understand. But the thing is, it is still very vain to choose a vehicle based on notions of how manly, or unmanly it is. It is functional, you'll use it as transportation means, that's all it is.

But I totally respect your opinion if it is contrary to mine. Mine isn't better, nor worse. It's just different.

I don't have much in common with a man who'd choose a vehicle using how masculine a car is as a parameter. But that's just me. I'm sure I'm with the minority on this.

Guys rarely choose to buy a vehicle because he thinks it will get him chicks except for 60 yr old Guido with the new Vette. Most guys buying cars of a specific type, Muscle, sports, Off-Road.....etc do so because they are into that type or most likely, their circle of friends are into them. I've been a Mustang fan since the 60's and have owned a few. I bought my last one when I was in my late 40's, a 2008 Shelby GT 500. During the 5 years I had it (Totaled while sitting at a stop light, rear ended by a car doing 60), I've been handed more than my share of phone Numbers, from women 18-50, knowing nothing about me other than the car they saw me driving. Did they all want to park and blow, highly doubtful, most likely just wanted a ride. I agree with the poster who said, whatever is driven, it being clean and well taken care of says a lot about the person driving. I always kept my cars in that shape.
Here is a quick pic of my last one

I own 2 cars - a Japanese import & a classic car from the 1950's era. Both have feminine appearance - nice front & rear lol

Now that is a sexy beast! Has no bearing on whether or not I find the driver attractive, I just want to hump the car

I love my boss but I am looking hard at the 2014 snakes!

LOL, I'd have let you, Car's need "lovin" too! Nothing gets the blood pumping like being out on an open road, cruising smoothly at about 65 in 4th gear, dropping it into 3rd, and stomping on the Throttle and proceeding to leave two solid black lines for a couple hundred feet, then realizing you're at redline @ 130+ and thinking what the hell, lets see what the other two gears have! Fast cars are as American as Apple Pie and sure as hell don't have to be Chevrolet!

PS: I'd wait till 2015 when Ford will reintroduce their SVT Cobra back into the line-up without the Shelby name! Can't wait! But a 2014 Shelby with 650hp from the factory wouldn't suck either!

Reckless criminal endangerment is what you should be charged with, just like the guy here recently caught doing 150 on the freeway.

Or a country can make a speedway, where those who want to can go 100+ can, in return for the legal acknowledgement that if tragedy strikes because of a speed crash, it's not gonna go to court.

Driver and passengers hurt/die, end of story their choice.

Are you making assumptions Gongshaman? Assumption's such as "Nothing gets the blood pumping like(insert ME) being out on an open road, cruising smoothly at about 65 in 4th gear, dropping it into 3rd, and(insert ME) stomping on the Throttle and proceeding to leave two solid black lines for a couple hundred feet, then (insert ME) realizing (insert I'm) at redline @ 130+ and thinking what the hell, (insert I'll) see what the other two gears have! (insert to give Gongshaman a reason to breath) WEEEEEE, I just love weaving through traffic @ double and triple the posted Speed Limit!

Now run along and be a good Citizen because I'm pretty sure that your post doesn't provide any input to weather Ladies find a particular car an attraction factor or not and the post you cited was directed at one person only while keeping inline with the Thread Topic!!

I don't care at all. I mean it would be cool to date a guy that HAD a car because I don't so we wouldn't both have to bike and bus to meet up, but even that I don't really care about. I can't even think of a car I find particularly manly.

I care more about why he drives what he drives and how he cares for it.

If a guy is driving a truck because it's big and macho, but he can't steer the damn thing, it's a turn off. If a guy drives a truck because he love camping at a ren fair for a weekend and needs a place for his gear, that's different. If he needs the huge truck for a job that demands the extra storage, that's different.

If a guy has a tiny efficiency car because he's trying to prove how eco friendly he is 24/7, it's gonna wear on my nerves. However if he's excited by how much he saves on gas so he can put in a killer stereo, that's different.

If it's a battered POS with junk food wrappers all over the floor, it tells me he just doesn't care to clean up after himself and get's a downgrade. If it's rusty, but the seats are great and I have plenty of junk free leg room, that's an upgrade.

If the shiny sports care is so tiny that all five foot of me has cramped legs and bruised knees from a 5 min drive I look down on his intelligence. By that point, it better be fast cause I just want to get out.

And if he love his car so much that he doesn't have time for sex because he has to work on his car, I don't care what kind it is, I'm leaving. If you love you car more than your girlfriend/wife/SO, then you can hump it too.

You aren't alone in that sentiment. She's not part of the forum, but my wife loves all those things except the football part. (Ok, the trucks too I guess.) She is the one with the Camaro - I just have the vintage japanese muscle bike for the summer but drive something boring year-round.

She feels more attracted to a hot car itself than to its owner. If she could actually have an affair with a car, I'd have to keep a much, much closer eye on her!

It's the guy IN the car that makes a difference.
But if I am in to a guy and he doesn't have a nice car, it's not a big deal either.

I used to go to this outdoor track a lot and there was this one guy who took an interest in me and kept saying hello or staring a conversation every time he passed by.
He was just not my type - at all, I had no interest. So later as I'm reaching the end of the trail, I see him kind of poking around and looking back at me.
Then as I approach he walks over to where his car is parked and yells "see you later!" -- well, he was driving a very expensive car and I could see that he was waiting to impress me with that.
I honestly just thought "creepy guy has a nice car, not impressed!" and kind of shook my head. It was almost funny.
I have seen men that I've been attracted to that drove a nice car and thought "Oh and he has a nice car too!...nice" but it was him first, not the car.
So, really, it's only certain types of women who get over taken with material things.
I'm not going to date a guy, solely by the car he drives!

I'm seeing 6 categories of people emerging :

Guys who are into cars who have a nice car just because they like it

Guys who are NOT into cars who have a nice car because they think it will help them get girls

Girls who are into cars who feel that a nice car is an added bonus if the guy is also attractive

Girls who are NOT into cars who are attracted to material wealth

People of either gender who would like a nice car for whatever reason but don't have one

And finally people of either gender who cannot possibly bring themselves to give a shit about any of it - just not into cars or shallow materialism

    Did I leave anyone out?

That's the purpose of a thread dark_river - to have many diversities and opinions.
I'd like to see you make a thread sometime, I'd bet it would be very interesting.
Do IT :D ...and link me!

Oh, you know what else, there is probably a category of guys who have BIG cars/trucks to over compensate for their small penis ... lol
