I have used Kratom a few times, however I have not used a ton of opiates recreationally to compare and contrast it with. I've had 2 different types of Kratom, I forget which particular strain the first one was. The first type of Kratom I tried was from an online vendor and it was powdered, which I found fairly quality in the high that it produced but it was bitter tasting and difficult to ingest. The high was pretty light, I felt the initial onset was kind of stimulating and then it settled into more of a chilled out opiate type high. I found that weed complimented kratom significantly! I occasionally get some anxiety with weed and the kratom pretty much counteracted this effect completely and I felt quite sedated on it. I suspect a similar type of synergy might happen with some of the less powerful opioids. The other few times I tried Kratom was from purchasing some Bali Kratom extract at a headshop which came in capsules. I found the headshop stuff fairly ineffective and it was also more expensive. Felt like a waste... I'd recommend Kratom if you are not looking for an intense nod type high. From my experience, I'd say it would best be used as a casual high to kind of take the edge off or to combo with other drugs. I suggest that you seek a reputable online Kratom vendor if you want to experiment with it.
I've been using it for my anxiety when I run out of bud, and I absolutely love it. Its almost identical to hydrocodone, for me 10g of Red Vein Bali feels a lot like 20-30mg if its good stuff. I've tried snorting oxycodone, popping vicoden, tramadol, codeine and dihydrocodeine. Its a nice substance, but don't expect to nod off like you would on oxycodone or something. I find it has far more ichyness than hydrocodone or oxycodone, but maybe its just me. Overall, its right up there with good ol' bud on my list of favorite drugs. No prescription, easy to get, somewhat affordable for occasional use, and best of all it relieves my anxiety.
Ive had a few experiences. The best is when I found it in a shop on Haight in SF. Feels like a mix of opiates and alcohol to me without as much euphoria. Still fun, Id just rather spent the money on some dope
Its a plant...you can make a tea from it...I liked it when I tried it, a lot like hydrocodone but didnt seem to last as long. This was several years ago tho, I would like to do it some more
