If you're able to, get hold of some Gabapentin, also called Neurontin. I take it for neuropathic pain, but it's also been used for seizure disorders and even as a stabilizer for people with bipolar disorder. Anyway, about 2400mg of Gabapentin per day will practically eliminate opiate withdrawal symptoms, except maybe some mild cravings and diarrhea, but that's easily controlled with loperamide. This isn't something you'll find on the street. You'll have to get it prescribed to you or from someone else with a prescription. But I thought I'd mention it, because it does work. Now, the Gabapentin itself at those doses will really knock you silly, but it's not unpleasant. You just feel loopy as hell. For example, if you're walking downstairs you need to pay attention to each step. But it's way better than going through withdrawal.
Thanks happydude for sharing that info with me. I forgot to check this thread for updates. I've been having much better luck with kratom since I made that post. I still stand firm that it does nothing at all for my pain, but it's worthwhile for the relaxing and stimulating effects. I have an order of maeng da on the way and I'll post back, so you'll all know the results.
