From the Article I wonder how the Johns found out about her addy. There was probably a phone number written on a bathroom wall and they just told the John her addy to make it sound more legit. Or was it some kind of revenge against her, perhaps by a neighbor who wants to get rid of her or is sending her a message like "you're too promiscuous for this neighborhood" or whatever. Or a spurned lover who now sees her as a whore? The article doesn't say.
It could have been a random thing or a targeted thing - For her, it must feel terribly invasive - imagine getting a knock on your door from a stranger - in today's world, that is enough to frighten an older woman (or anyone, depending on your life's experience) and then to realize they came there expecting to have sex with someone at that address. The johns already paid for services through Venmo - and expected to arrive to find some cute miss at the address. This has been going on for months with over 2 dozen men coming to her house at all hours. The guys are stupid, in my view - I hope the police can find the scammer.
