Yeah it is, very effective. When I studied martial arts, we had street self defense classes and that is one of the things we learned.

Maybe I'll just start carrying this on those late-night walks

I can only imagine the look on someones face who sets out trying to jack a simple pedestrian, then sees this thing come out, about to run through them. Classic :cheers2:

This is a little more practical, though still not exactly legal to carry out of sight, as far as I know :(

I'd almost say dirk for the length, but I mean, it's still probably a dagger, or stiletto.

Yeah I was told it was a dagger when I got it, probably about 12 years ago. It's pretty cool though, it's spring steel, so it is really flexible.

Can't carry knives here either. Heck, some schools around and about have metal detectors when you enter to make sure no one has any weapons. That's pretty fucking bad. Although apparently, if you carry you're more likely to get stabbed yourself (by your own weapon of course).

You live in England right? That's because your cops even aren't allowed to carry guns :smilielol5:

The US is a little different.. we love our weapons.

Not if it goes straight from your pocket into the assailant's neck or ribcage ;)
If you're gonna pull something you better be ready to use it right there, not waving the shit around.

What can I say? I was very much a boy growing up. Loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, studied martial arts for years.. I always had an appreciation for being able to protect myself and those I care about. Instead of relying on some fat, out of shape cops to come save me.

Nice collection bro. Here's mine.. unfortunately I have about 5 or 10 more knives chillin in boxes at my cousins in florida.. My balisongs, combat knife, all my really nice stuff is down there. I want to get a nice glock or pump shotgun.

I don't carry a weapon- unless ,like, a speed dialing cellphone counts. Seems like I would probably cut myself long before I was able to cut anyone else with it.

Hubby carried a knife for awhile in the car....but not for what you think. The cook ,that he is ,he used to carry his fav sharpest kitchen cooking knife to and from work LOL.

There iss a swiss army knife and a few similar pocket knives around the house, but hubby doesn't usually carry one on him.

knives are awesome, my personal opinion is an 8 inch straight with sheath is what you're looking for, it can cut, trim, shave, or just use it as a fork when you ain't got one. i love my KBar!

if you're looking for small pocket size, i'd go with an old timer or a case an old old timer not the new made in china pieces of plastic crap.

My advice , dont carry a knife.

Try martial arts , dont go looking for it , or messing round in places where it is.
And smoke someone as an *absolute* last resort.

Oh yeah, thanks for bumping this. I got a new knife the other day.

Went with the new Ken Onion design by Kershaw, the Blur. It has a tanto blade, half serrated, and it's assisted opening.

    I like it :cheers2:
