I don't really know of any good books off hand (my grandma taught me how to knit and crochet) but http://about.ca/ has a lot of good info, stitch glossaries/tutorials and a kick-butt newletter.

I tried to learn to knit a few days ago....it's just not happening. Well, it is, but I am so bad at it. I think for now I will stick to crochet....been doing that since I was 7.

Kniting will come with time. When I first learned how to knit, I had the tension so tight most of the stuff I made could stand up on it's own! lol

 

I finished up this little cap not so long ago. I love it when kids wear cabby caps
This is 100% acrylic. I used a baby yarn that's kind of sparkley and super soft!
