I think in the 70's Kiss was the closest thing to a hair band. Hair bands came out of the glam rock of the 70's.
im afraid even this would be inadequate to disguise the stench that comes from the musical stylings of kiss
Man, how did I miss this thread? If you can listen to some old kiss, say, Cold Gin or God of Thunder and not appresh this band, you'd probably be better suited chowing down on a bag of dicks. I for one, am a fan of the KISS that radio forgot.
I remember I liked Creatures of the night, but that was the Iced Earth cover. Later I tried Kiss Alive I, got to halfway the second song, shut off the MP3 player and never listened to them again.
KISS was a fantastic rock-n-roll band who always gave the fans their moneys worth. (I saw em 3 times) Yeah so they are a money-grubbing bunch (or Gene is at least) but that shouldn't detract a person from listening to 'em. Just don't buy the coffin! Simple, catchy rock-n-roll, and unpretentious unlike so many bands. They sang about girls and saturday night as a rock-n-roll band should. I particularly like 'Room Service' and their cover of the Dave Clark 5's 'Anyway You Want It'.
first of all kiss isnt metal, but dimebags hero and the one who got him and other metal players to pick up guitar was ace frehley
I was a big fan of the old KISS when I was a kid and I'd have to say hard rock with a glam look...but anything after Alive II was just sad
Alot has to do with timing..have the right songs, the right look,at the right time..lets not forget, the music business is just that a business. They entered into music to sell records, concert tickets, and be famous..and thats just what happened
indeed..when in a interview he was asked was he a sell out?,and he answered yes..we sell out everyplace we play
True, but image only goes so far..they had great music to back up the marketing. It seemed the only one who objected to it was ace.But even without the merchandise,i would still listen to them and still think there're great
Yeah the music is fucking amazing. Rock 'n Roll Over is a classic rock album. Especially the song Mr.Speed. Fuckin' killer tune.
