Then it's probably a good rule of thumb for everyone to shower daily. Some people they would benefit from two showers daily.

I don't mind the smell of camping people and Patch either but while I have a shower in my home will use it. Just because I like being close and intimate with my partner for one reason, and ya never know when the power goes out for a few days. I am on line with the police station, fire and ambulance so I am never out more then 40 mins but I had a water leak in my basement, shut the water off and called my Guy but he was busy and came when he could. Luckily it was the same day but at the end of the day. Mind you there is a Y within walking distance from my house so I could pay the three bucks and get a swim in after my shower but still,,, my fear would be a car accident and being laid up a few days, do you know they don't just shower people in hospital anymore like they used to? Not even before a surgery, they send you in a washroom with a bit of soap, a cloth, and instructions to tell you to wash the spot being cut and so many inches above and below that spot. You could get a bed bath if you land in hosp, but that's it and you might be laid up bad enough you couldn't have either done for you anyway.
Let's consider you aren't going out of the house but you slip going down to the basement, same thing if you already smell like ass yer gonna lay that way in hospital for days before they realize and care where the stink is coming from and toss you in the ambulance washing bay for a hosing down.
It's just my opinion but a person should more often then once a week, not to be with trend or society's expectations but to be ready for anything should something happen. Cause ya never know,,,

I'm unemployed, and I don't go out much. I try to save money on water by showering every other day. No one's ever complained. lol

Two days is my limit- for pants. One day is my limit for anything else.

Oh...and as for showers (or baths), like them way too much to skip them any day.

I tried to go two weeks once as an experiment, after one week I was so disgusted with myself I broke down and took a shower. Nothing is more nasty than the funk of an unwashed person.

Yep. I know what it's like to go several weeks without showering. If it curls my nose hairs I bet it's no more merciful on others. When you go a while without bathing, your body will develop an odor than even bathing cannot remove. Only regular bathing and time.

I was homeless for a year, and I remember the longest stretch I went without showering was 3-1/2 weeks. After that things got a little bit better, but not by far. I got to where I was bathing in the river (best place I found really) and an amusement shower at the park. That is just something the sity has for kids to enjoy in the heat of summer. Timed shower, outside, cold water, but it's worth it. Just think...if you're homeless but able to get some money coming in, can you afford a shower at the local truck stop? I think so. I was paying $7.50 a shot, and I was in error for not showering often so I could afford a burger & fries. Bad trade. Shower every other day and it's $105 or so per month. Yeah, you're homeless so you may not have any money coming in. Go buy a solar shower at the sporting goods store. $10 there just saved you a lot, though it's still nothing compared to a truck stop shower. They don't time those (not the ones I went to).

When I left my X I moved to BC and there was a shower at the laundry mat, cost a buck plus I made a lot of friends who offered anytime while I was living in my motorhome. In the summer if I didn't want to bug anyone I could go for a swim in the creek and at that time there wasn't much work so I did little live in stints for people who needed care for a couple to 4 days at a time which meant great food and showers and a break from my motorhome life. Might have been a bit of a hobo for a while and lovin it but I never had to be without the ability to wash up.
