For over twenty years the democrats have helped the Tea Party to destroy our constitution in a variety of ways, to destroy our judicial system, to rig our elections, and have converted the office of the president into as close to a dictatorship as it gets. Donald Duck literally had the power in office to kill anyone on the planet without so much as having to inform congress after the fact. Although countless charges have been filed against him, including for high crimes and treason, he walked out of the white house a free man, after inciting civil war and getting people killed. Either this is the calm before the storm, or worse. If there are no consequences other than the usual Tom foolery, and the Tea Party is not held accountable, or they will attempt to spin this as merely Donald Duck and the obvious assholes who rioted. Democrats may win for now, but they are brainless chickens, and don't need a reason to keep demanding a rooster. What little unmistakable propaganda I've seen thus far, suggests they are attempt to either delay for a few weeks, or will make a serious attempt to sweep the Tea Party's involvement under the rug. They are merely muddying the water right now, like lawyers debating the definition of stupid, and may assume they can merely distract the public, and maintain the Tea Party, which supports money doing all the driving, because nobody else can get a fucking thing done. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Frankly I thought the tea party was dead, and that the Republicans were the ones to embrace it. I think you have the facts wrong here Woo... Please do not be disingenuous. Those are my thoughts.
Tea Party | Join the Movement. Support Tea Party. If the Tea Party were already dead, half the country would be jumping for joy in the streets.
The Tea Party has been dead for almost a decade. Their main goal was fiscal responsibility, and with the exception of a very small handful in congress, this is a foreign concept to either major party.
According to Mother Jones, the Tea Party morphed into the cult of Donald Trump. It didn't so much disband as expand, re-inventing itself and becoming even more dangerous.
Demagogues like Ted Cruz seem to have made the transition without skipping a beat and are still holding on to power. Mike Pompeo and Mick Mulvaney, who also threw in their lot with Trump. are out of power now, but who knows what the future will hold. Adam Kinzinger has gone from Tea Party fan to outspoken Never Trumper!
To me the tea party morphed into the Freedom caucus – as to fiscal responsibility that was a smoke screen they were all for tax cuts that benefited the wealthiest in US society to the detriment of everyone else It is/was the same old right wing con – shout very loudly that you want fiscal responsibility and ‘balanced books’ but what is actually meant is ballooning the public debt through tax cuts for the wealthy then ‘balancing’ things by cutting any benefits that help and support everyone else. It is the old neoliberal, laizzez faire, trickle down that only works to improvise society as a whole while filling the pockets of a few. If people really wanted to have a balanced economic system they’d follow a Keynesian type model that is about evening out the economic cycle for the benefit of everyone in fat times you accumulate, pay off debts and dampen down dangerous risk in and in lean times you invest to stimulate a lagging economy. But at all times you look after the people (all the people) in your society.
The Freedom Caucus is in Congress with about 50 current members. It grew considerably during the Trump administration. Yes it grew out of the Tea Party. As for all the Joe Blows who supported the Tea Party, they became Trumpeters. Trump is their savior, he was crucified in a rigged election, but will be resurrected. Just you wait and see.
The last thing she did publicly was in December, campaigning for Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the Georgia runoff election, urging Georgians to "crush" the vote to avoid another "rigged election." "We need you to crush it and to send that message, the loudest message that we can, that no, we will not implement at all socialism in America," Palin said. Perdue and Loeffler both lost to their Democratic rivals, so Sarah was no help. Perhaps she made it worse.
To my understanding Freedom Caucus is a coalition of members of Congress. They were sidelined by Donald Trump.
