    How would I know?

I'm usually asleep when I'm sleeping.

Yes, but it’s rare when it happens. I actually got up out of bed and started swinging at a shadowy figure coming towards me

    Yes.

When I was a kid our dog used to jump on the bed and sleep by my feet. The one night I dreamt I was kicking a ball, but I kicked the dog. Shame she went flying off of the bed.

I once dreamt I was in a fight and a guy grabbed my arms and I headbutted him. But I actually headbutted my wife. Luckily her face was turned away from me and I hit the back of her head. She was not impressed with me!!

Only do that when I'm having a seriously dark nightmare.

I do. Seems to happen more if I eat a lot before bed, but sometimes I do it even if I don't eat late. Some nights I start kicking my legs as I start dozing while reading in bed and keep waking myself (and my wife) - on those nights, I'll usually put a half an ambien under my tongue because I know I won't sleep otherwise.

I have to make sure I fall asleep facing away from my wife.
