Kent State May 4th, 1970

Incidentally, Johnson Hall was torn down this past year and construction started on a new building. If you look at the old photos of May 4th, you'll see a handful of students standing on the roof of Johnson Hall during the time leading up to the shooting. Their location was behind the guard when the guard fired.

That was the jist of what she said near the end. You could tell by her tone of her voice that she was still troubled by it. I would have to look at my tapes for the exact words she said. 35 years is a long time to live in pain. I think most people at some point come up with some sort of acceptance in their minds.
