Pretty much every generation has students that think they are young radicals...with che on their wall etc. Rich or poor. Just google "student protest" and you will see plenty from history and today. http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&um=1&q=student protest&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi It almost seems a rite of passage. I know those people were not old, they were just bystanders, which was the point. They died because the police did something they shouldn't.
this is ignorant, while it is true some people have the bill sent to there parents, others like myself pay it themselves, and yes, after we recieve our college degrees we gain mastery in our field and go on to be psychologist, lawyers, diplomats, politicians, etc. Ungrateful? more like earned it. See you on the other side of the railroad tracks.
my college Kent state Boston University http://www.dennerlaw.com/CM/SignificantCases/Boston-University-Student.asp this stuff still happens all the time, just not by the military (thank god) lets not forget that.
yeah, i WILL be seeing you on the other side of the railroad tracks...when im beating the crap out of your commie skull, while fitted with riot gear armor.
Let's forgive those who try to blame the victims - they have no understanding. Thank you OBW for this list. Here’s a list of those killed and wounded at Kent State. My prayers go out to the families and friends of those who were killed as well as the members of the national guard.
I don't think there is a handbook for trolls. If being insensitive is in your handbook, fair enough...I don't want to get too sanctimonious.
new audio brought forward by someone injured at Kent state has evidence of an order to fire on the students http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=9946806&m=9948082 an NPR broadcast
I heard that McRaver - All these years no one would admit there was an order to fire on the students - that it just happened - and finally the truth comes out - they were ordered to fire. Still - no one will ever be held responsible. Funny - it coming out just before the anniversary. Thanks again.
i have never heard the term "point" used as a command in the military before.it does not discredit what might be heard on the tape however.one of my first thoughts upon hearing the news and all these years has been what in the world were these national guardsman doing with live ammo in their weapons?at that time the national guard units were not the seasoned soldiers of today's army.it was a frightening situation for them but clearly the situation called for some restraint.that some of the soldiers shot into the ground or into the air to me shows an order to fire may have been given by an inexperienced officer who panicked.
That is a point well taken - It has concerned me ever since the incident - why in God's name would those guardsmen have been given live ammo? Bayonets - maybe, batons - certainly, shields - not not live rounds. What was somethinking - it is indeed criminal.
