    Hi All,

After a fairly extensive search online (Ok.... a 15 min google search quest. preactically the same thing.) I've been unable to find an answer to my question... which leads me to believe that the answer is no, it's not common!

I'm female and 26 and until a few years ago hadn't experimented with masturbation at all. Too young and innocent I like to think! :p But even now I've learnt to embrace my sexuality, I still don't masturbate regularly, simply because it rarely leads to orgasm!

Now I've never had any problems at all reaching orgasm through intercourse. So I used to put this down to me just being an emotional person who needs that connection.... but then I went through a one night stand phase (Don't we all?!) and was still able to orgasm no problem. So there's that theory out the window. Then I thought it might be something to do with the theory that women are less visual and I just needed that interaction of someone else touching me to help me reach orgasm.

I'm starting to think however there may be a more physiological reason. When I don't reach orgasm through masturbation, it's always because after some foreplay and just as I'm getting fully aroused, I feel strong rhythmic contractions of my kegal muscle an with this, all my arousal just disappears instantly. I don't notice this contraction at all during intercourse, and the few times I have had an orgasm through masturbation, I have absolutely no idea what I did differently, I just know I didn't experience these contractions.

Finding an answer to this online seems pretty impossible.... I don't even think here is the right place to post about this. The closest thing I've been able to find is this guy's forum post, which seems like a similar phenomenon but no one who replied really seemed to know what he was talking about! http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/general-...nvoluntary-kegel-during-sex-masturbation.html

But I'd really like to find an answer and some suggestions about what I can do to stop this. If no one has an answer, can anyone recommend a more medically based forum?

    Thanks for your time!
