I'm wanting to take it up a level, and start freeing more than just my feet. Thing is, though, when I start going on dates and stuff, is it possible to separate the love of being completely free, and sex? Or is there always an implied sexual component to being nude in front of a girlfriend, even if it's just because I like the feeling, and I'm not trying to arouse her?

I also wonder about keeping pubic hair neater. Mine is wild, so I wonder if I am to shave it completely, how would I go about that? Or should I just trim it, and again, how would I go about that?

The internet has a thousand articles on men's grooming. I would trust Google way more than the crazies that post here on that one.

Not wanting to get too personal, but when you say "Start going on dates and stuff", that makes you sound very young. Leaving the question of your motivation aside, consider how a girl your age would be likely to react to nudity, if there hadn't been any warning. I'd guess that it wouldn't be helpful to establishing a relationship! In fact depending on how she takes it, you could end up in legal trouble.

On the other hand, if you actually did have a sexual relationship, then I suppose she'd very likely accept nudity as part of it. If she saw it as sexual, I don't see how it would matter.

On the other other hand, if you're being conservative (ha ha) then maybe there isn't going to be any sex, but you could be developing a close relationship without it. Then I think you could say at some point, "I'm a nudist; do you mind if I get out of my clothes when we're together?" And if she trusts you, she'd agree. But most people would call this pretty weird stuff.

And finally, you don't have to do anything at all with your pubic hair. Don't believe all these trendies who say it has to be trimmed or shaved or minimized in some way!

thanks. No I never intended to just spring it on her (yes, I am still young, I'm 18 next week), if the relationship got to the level of where she would come to my house, I'd clarify that with her before extending an invitation. As for the pubic hair, it's more because it's unruly, and I want to at the very least trim it a bit.

Do you seriously need to ask how to shave your pubes?

yes, I don't know if you use any regular razor, or something else. Also, I don't have much facial hair, so I've had no experience shaving at all.

What, you're liberating your feet and more, yet you worry about "unruly" pubic hair? Accept that it's wild, untamable, eternally free! And expect anyone else who sees it to agree with you.

Shaven pubic hair seems to be the new conservatism. Tragic is what I call it.

Well, I have 3 diff pair of shaped cutters, a electric razor, wax strips, hair removal cream and an epilator. :)

I'm not saying maintain your pubic area, I'm just saying to the person that said it was tragic to do so, that it really isn't.

Maintaining body hair isn't going to effect a personality, it's not going to define who you are either. I think people worried about that sort of thing, honestly, they got rocks in their heads.

again, it's because its unruly nature is driving me crazy, so I want to at least trim it. It's not to try and define myself, or keep up with trends.

I don't know, I just let it grow ever since the first sprouts. See, though, the hair on my head is also a bit unruly. It never wants to stay tidy, and I always wake up with bed head. So it's probably just my overall hair type. No matter what I do, I cannot tame it down there, and it's like a shrub. One of the problems is, you know how sometimes socks give your skin that almost sore feeling? Same idea, except in a much more sensitive region. The other problems are that it gets all over the bath tub when I shower. Trust me, unruly pubic hair is not as great as you may be thinking.

Ok, fair enough then, I like the little sideburn trimmer thing that came with the hair dressing set.

You dont want anything with big teeth down there, and razors are a no no if you are prone to ingrown hair

In my experience, most girls prefer that men control their genital body hair. And most women also (watch various recordings of the Vagina Monologs and the majority of women speakers are for keeping genital hair in check). Notice that I said control and in check. I'm not being absolutist about being shaven or smooth, and everyone with any sensibility honors individual choice is this regard. I am only speaking about whether your personal choice will receive aesthetic appreciation from the most people.

A purpose-built electric shaver is helpful. I have a Phillips Norelco Bodygroom 3100 set. It is a battery powered, waterproof (use it in the shower, though I don't) electric razor. It has a small curved-head shaving unit with modestly protruding in-line shears on each side to deal with the longer hairs. I won't say that the in-line shears never draw a hint of blood, but the unit is vastly safer and less trouble than a traditional disposable razor.

Since this is a hippie-inspired forum, I should note that in the original movement, many women saw natural body hair as a political statement of freedom and independence. I think that we have all come a long way since. Men and women have become confident enough in their freedom to make their own choice about body hair. Overwhelmingly (at least in my experience) the choice seems to be that less is more. In an age when upper-income girls in middle school (and their parents) are comfortable about waxing, I would recommend taming the wildness.
