Wow, so apparently all this time it was the socialists who ushered in the reconstruction era, and made former enslaved Blacks and the poor, slaves to either the capitalist class or work camps which was the beginning of the welfare state. Who knew
"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... for 400 years? That sounds like a choice," Kanye said at the time Big fucken deal, the slave trade was dangerous business, many people did fight back, some of those slave traders did get killed trying to capture people
And this one: . “We will no longer outsource to other countries. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love.” Well, what does that even mean?
I didnt mean it that way, meant I dont see what the big deal is about what Kanye said. In that first part. In the part about the 13th amendment, I dont think anyone is going to be able to work out what he is on about
Saying that slavery was the choice of those enslaved is a pretty big deal. Even with significant slave insurrections happening throughout the centuries, slavery still existed. The enslaved Africans fought like hell, so there's no way you could twistedly blame them.
By the way, the 400 year thing was only British America 1526 there was a slave revolt at a Spanish settlement Winyah Bay in what is now Sth Carolina, so at least 492 years
Oddly, this seems feasible, or at least within the realm of possibility. A few years ago, this statement would have been foolish, but the era of Trump has brought this sense of chaos and absurdity.
Head of state never really does anything, no matter what system, what country Its all the junior politicians that are the policy makers, and even they dont draught the policies, unelected public servants do that
Trump is both our head of state (ceremonial) and our chief executive (real power) and he's very much running the show, with many junior positions still left unfilled and senior postions coming and going. And he's an incompetent megolomaniac. The Congressional Republicans are eating out of his hand and he's packing the judiciary with lifetime appointments. It makes an enormous differencein the United States who we put in the Oval Office. If the country thinks it's cool to put in madmen, it will pay dearly for it. The Romans found that out the hard way.
Although I agree with that being stuck in this worthless two party system has become one of the biggest problems for american politics and citizens (which could easily be abandoned if the voters would stop being loyal to one and/or voting against 'the other side'), I would like to point out that humanity in general does not depend on or is subject to the american two party system.
