hahaha--yeah thanks. It's no fun getting one spayed and having it become a loved family member and then --poof--just gone.
Really, tuna should be given as a treat once or twice a week.Otherwise I'd say alternate with dry and canned cat food. There's some reason not to give tuna every day,but I don't remember what it is.
So you want to know a good marinade? Mango and cayenne works well, but you've got to let the kitty sit at room temperature.
This was a great thread to read. I think that Jeff already has a new owner trained! Hope you really enjoy him, it sounds as if you will.
Some cats are just really slinky. I had this cat I found on the side of the road once, and I thought it was almost starved to death it was so skinny, but after months of it living with me and routinely eating healthily, it almost didn't even fill out at all. It was just a weird looking cat, REALLY long skinny legs, and a slinky body, you could see it's ribs no matter how much it ate, was definitely the ugliest cat I've ever seen lol.
Really dude. Visit your local animal shelter just to look at the cats. Tell them that you already have one and do not want to adopt. Have fun with your new pet.
How I came to love cats= When I was a little guy,my best friend always had cats around, but since I grew up in a house with a dog,I completely ignored them.In fact I don't think I ever even touched one of them. Bang!=Maui 1969. Driving to the country where I lived from Lahaina , I saw a little creature in the middle of the road dodging cars and trucks ,so I hollered for the driver to stop. I ran back ,dodging some vehicles and grabbed the little guy. One of his eyes was hanging out, as he had already been hit,so I took him to a vet and he removed the eye, sewed up the cavity and off we went. The 2 girls I lived with each had a pretty good size dog and they wanted to hassle that little cat I called Peeper---no days! That little bugger would stand up to them and taught those dogs what claws feel like on dog noses. I really got to admire and love that little guy and thusly started to really see that cats are beautifull and independant creatures. I have had cats ever since and have gotten many strays fixed up and put into homes.-------hope you don't mind me putting my story here.
Peepers demise. Sorry-I have to add this, for the demise of my little buddy was cause for something very interesting to me. I left Maui to go to Oahu to do some roofing. The next day after I got there, I was sitting on a roof bangin' some shakes on and suddenly the strangest feeling came over me. I said right out loud,as I threw my hatchet down and headed for the ladder--"something happened to peeper". I just knew it. No cell phones then ,so I went to a pay phone and called the girls on Maui. As soon as one answered, she started crying and apologizing for backing over peeper with the car as when she started it ,peeper thought it was safe to hide behind the tire and got run over. I was very, very sad and also blown away by the incidence of ESP regarding my little friend. He at least gave me the appreciation I have for cats now, even tho he wasn't around very long. Thanks Peeper--I haven't forgotten you.
