There is not a Pope, Priest, Preacher, or any other "Churchy" guy who has not masturbated! And if he says he didn't, he is the world's biggest liar! Masturbation is the universal sexual experience of all males! It is natural and even necessary! Isn't it time that we all admit to each other that we all get-off by hand?
If your moral compass is set by the Catholic church, I think that masturbation should be the least of your concerns.
I've often wondered if the reason for such a high level of paedophiles to be found within the Catholic Clergy is directly due to their stance against masturbation screwing up their minds, or if it's simply a profession that's attractive to paedophiles simply because of the potential access to Altar Boys. After all, you don't get anywhere near the level of paedophilia within the Protestant Clergy, where ministers are permitted to marry, and masturbation isn't continuously being forced down a boys throat as being a Mortal Sin, thus potentially causing problems with their overall sexuality & accordant state of mind from an early age.
So that is why the German word for masterbatin is Onanieren. LOL Why do People make fun of People they hear masterbating then?
The funny thing is that the story of Onan is Hebrew not Christian. I find no reference to masturbation in the Christian Bible/New Testament.
to answer rak's question: people make fun of others who masturbate because they do it themselves and feel guilty about it, so they try to transfer that guilt onto someone else. The world is full of religious do-gooders who masturbate, but can't bring themselves to admit it to anyone! I challenge anyone to say with a straight face that they have never masturbated! We all do it!!
The Bible says that if your house gets mold, you should cut out the brick and burn it, bury the ashes and then replace it with a clean brick. If it happens again, you should cut out the brick and the surrounding bricks and burn them, bury the ashes and replace them. If it happens a third time, you burn the whole house. Who would live their lives by the twosted word of long-dead misoynists who never heard of Clorox?
Yeah,...that's (obviously to many of us) a metaphor anyway. It just pretty much means if you start to have thoughts that would cause you to stray in a relationship, etc... it is better to cut off said person, even if they are a friend, then to hurt you and your partner more in the future and break a covenant. That is my interpretation of that passage and it could be used in other similar, but different ways. (different topics.)... in any case, God, Jesus, or the Bible doesn't care if people masturbate. That's just silly but the old testament can be confusing and old Hebrew law does really not apply. I think part of the reason some Christians have a problem with it is just in extreme amounts and hardcore porn, etc that can lead to obsession, cheating, rape, depression, etc. If you aren't extreme in the matter...and even if you are but don't hurt yourself or anyone else, there would be no issue imho..
I think almost no one on this forum understands that simple fact. But many of them sure like to post about it anyways.
A: If Joshua Bin Joseph were alive today he'd be awful damned surprised that he was the son of god. B: If the bible were true and infallible, why so many contradictions? C: If the bible IS infallible, and there is an omniscient god inspiring its writing, why didn't he know the Sun doesn't revolve around the Earth? (Joshua 10 relates how 'god' stopped the sun in the sky - AND NO ONE ELSE BUT THE ISRAELITES NOTICED???? - Even with most of the other cultures on earth at the time being Sun worshipers???) D: Now tell me about Muslim terrorism after 1000+ years of Catholic terrorism!!! Your guilt is yours, and your issue is with you. My advice: Open your bible, set it on the livingroom table, whip out the pecker and stroke it 'til you mess up the floor!!!!
And My Advice To You Sir, Is To Piss Off And Find Yourself Another Forum To Troll...:troll:....... Cheers Glen.
If God made Man in His own image, and there is but one God, then why did He equip Adam with a penis? What use would a God have of a penis?
I am a Christian and I do masturbate. When I was 13, I discovered it but stopped at age 14 out of guilt. I didn't resume again until I was 24 years old and I'm glad I did. I really don't believe it will send you to hell. It's not a dirty thing. We as people or society decide what picture we want to paint with our actions. The bible doesn't say anything about it being a sin. I think sin comes in where it has gotten control over you and you are not taking control over it. Not just with that but it could be with food, video games or anything that has control over you. I don't like anything or anybody taking dominance over me since I am my own person. If there are any Christians that are on here struggling with this issue, I'd say don't condemn yourself over it. It's a natural thing but it does not have to control you. I'm not hardcore encouraging or discouraging but make your choice and be at peace.
Look, its pleasurable so just do it already and enough with this guilt. Our bodies are designed that way. If you believe in God and the creator and suchlike, then you must realise that we can feel sexual pleasure for a reason. Or are you saying that God made A Mistake? Gave us those feelings, but then decided that we shouldn't take advantage of our lovely bodies and enjoy ourselves? Nah, don't think so.
My wife and I are deeply religious though of differing faiths. We both attend each others services every week. I agree with others here, there is a Darth of moment in the scriptures on masturbation. For years I didn't do it and my ex would cut me off for months to try and get me to so I would feel guilty. I think if my fantasies are about raping women committing adultery, and pedophilia my thoughts will condem me. But if I am thinking of no one or within marriage as some 90% of women do there is no fault at all. And as others have said my darkest fantaciss are not as great a sin as hurting someone in real life. Women learn to orgasm through mastrabation, which strengthens families. As an old man I need it to keep the systems and fantasies I need to perform for my wife. And I think it is a sin to deny relief to women and men who have no moral outlet. Especially when in the 50+ bracket women out number men 5:1.
