I have been running around all day, just finally got some tickets for a show for the best freakin punk band, probably in my top 10. I am ready to see some real punk rock, I am so tired of Red hot chili peppers and blink 1882. This is the real deal yo!

Have the Chili Peppers really ever claimed to be punk?

 

in a way, some of their WAYYYY early stuff was a bit punk, and they have mentioned it having punk roots and styling, but nowadays, no they dont at all.

OP annoying me by not listing whom this other 'punk' band is.

 

I certainly agree with this, but I never really thought they claimed to be punk at all. Nor have I ever heard anyone identify them as punk.
