    I think any community that tries to limit age against the “too young” or “too old” loses initiative and wisdom respectively; and will not maintain for more than a generation or 2, if lucky.

    It depends on what the commune's mission statement is. Not all places have worker bees. Some people bring gifts of labor, others bring gifts of talent, and others bring gifts of treasure. I am interested in communal living so that I have others around me in times of need and a place where I can eat foods that are to my specifications.
