yeah, i have pics somewhere ill dig up of the super dirty water i get lol. i dont measure, usually do about 3/4 cup baking soda, a tablespoon sea salt, two or three tablespoons (or a couple squirts) lemon juice and about ten drops of essential oil (usually tea tree). mix it in a big big bowl or bucket of warm water and soak your hair and scalp or pour it on, wrap in a towel for half an hour and rinse really well if you are out of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar works for me too. it will also be fine without the salt.
thankyarrrr ^-^ i shall do it tomorrow cause i have an interview on tuesday, YAY ohohoh is that 3 to 4 cups, or 3 quarters? =]
My mom just found out today that I've been washing my hair with just water (still haven't broken the news that I don't wash it every day, but she doesn't have to know that). But I was unable to successfully explain how washing with water is enough to clean your hair. She kept saying how water doesn't wash away oil, and I couldn't refute that argument. I'm actually curious about this. How is it that water cleans oil, when chemically that shouldn't be possible?
Shampoo strips your hair and starts it in a cycle of producing MORE oil and having to be stripped again. When you are washing less your hair naturally produces less oil- and doesn't NEED to be washed with shampoo..
i usually get my hair wet everyday but only use bronners once or twice a month but since ive ran out of soap i have not gotten a chance to wash in a while, any ways i was at the store that sold the soap and they dont have bronners anymore they have this stuff called kirk's all natural castile soap... any one no anything about this stuff? ingredients Coconut Oil, Soap of Coconut, Vegetable Glycerin and Water.
I use kirks alll the time - for my body and to make laundry soap.LOVE that stuff, BUT I have never used it on my hair. Well, I guess hubby does wash his shaved head with it and it works alright... never thought to use it in my hair, but hey, if it works well tell me
Am I the only one here who is slightly disturbed when someone says they don't use shampoo/soap but do a deep cleanse every few months or once a month and the water is so dirty and dingy? Doesn't that tell you maybe you should wash it or do a deep cleanse more often?
Maybe I would be If I hadn't read from people who do shampoo regularly that do the deep cleanse and get dingy water
I would rather rinse out dirt and shit that is in there from everyday activities than continually washing my head with shampoo or soap thinking it's clean, all the while it's leaving just as much residue in my head as the dirt I am washing away. I dunno, soap makes my scalp peel and feel greasy and nasty, even with the smallest amounts.
it was at least as gross when i used soap. my hair feels a ton cleaner now b/c there is no built up soap gunk in it.
So the water is dirty regardless what cleaning method you use? That is interesting indeed... ETA: Maybe I shall try this deep cleanse and see what my water looks like. Does the water have to be super hot and do you have to like leave your hair dunk in a bucket or leave it on your hair for any amount of time?
Will do this tomorrow after I buy some baking soda and lemons. Seems good. On a side not my head has been itching like crazy but almost like bugs or something crawling under my skin which makes me freak out and itch even more. Errr
I've never really been able to tell what comes out of my hair when I do the deep cleanse... the water is always bright pink! I think we're all a bit too scared of dirt anyway. Good clean dirt
the deep clean i did the other day didnt have dingy water.. it was a bit cloudy, but i think that was the bicarb tbh and yuss, dirt is good
