I see you have never been to a marina

They have ropes there that don't absorb water because otherwise they would get weak and break and your boat would float away

    douchebag

soap and shampoo only became prevalent when the media machine started in the early 1900's and since(i believe it was actually the 20s and 30s when it really picked up) its interesting. google it or something. women went from washing their hair once a month to every day. this was fueled by the shampoo industry of course

    men soon followed

Yeah I think I might have to look it up sometime.
Seems to me that people just wanted their hair to smell "Fresh" and Shampoo companies saw an opportunity

Before soap, most people used various roots and plants to clean themselves. Soapwort and yucca are two common ones.

I kinda feel like, the moment we escape from one set of social norms regarding appearance and its proper maintenance, we're getting dragged straight into another, will all this dicking around with how to dilute Bronner's properly, different measurements of all these natural alternatives which require even more fuss than before we switched to such an easy hair-do, stressing over residue when some have carried on using regular shampoo with no problem... and all despite a few long-term dreadies on here having just been using water for a while now.

    Yeh. Ya know?

I've washed my dreads before with water only, but today was the first successful time, because my scalp didn't feel itchy afterwards. Fukken awesum feeling. I think i'm going to continue washing with water, if i wont get a decent shampoo.

Still washing without water, with no problems. Will do a shampoo wash before my next bleaching, just to make sure there are no oils etc forming a barrier between the bleach and hair.
