i'm kind of the same. i really didn't follow the story so i'm sure there's many details i missed, but ultimately it seems like he pretty much fucked his career, and i would say that's probably a fair punishment on its own without adding jail time or whatever they were threatening.

but i feel that way about a lot of crimes. you can spend years in jail for getting in a car accident where someone dies; if you were a legitimate human in the first place the guilt will be punishment enough.
