Oh it brought plenty of stuff into the open. Just think how things were going just before the hint came out that it was all bullshit. Smollett had successfully managed to get the whole country and even parts of the world, to hate white people just a little bit more. That's a substantial accomplishment.

And the idea is still playing out. Once you stoke hate, it doesn't "stop" JUST because the initial hate is proven to be a lie. Instead the haters keep looking for reasons to allow the hate to manifest itself. See, that's the thing about hate, it doesn't evaporate. It has to be countered. And in this case, it wasn't. The truth didn't settle this issue.

Smollett is a walking collection of leftist talking points, so he'll get a meager fine and serve "probation" Hollywood style. His first attempt at an apology was as disingenuous as Ilhan Omar's. Her hate seems to be right on schedule.

I'm for kicking out those who need it regardless of direction. This guy clearly thought he had come up with a foolproof plan for riding the social justice gravy train. If he had pulled it off, he'd be an icon of "the oppressed" and dollars would rain from the heavens for him. Even a book deal for his barely literate gab.

Really though, I have faith in social justice whiners. I see Jussie rising from the ashes to a pivotal part in Fast & Furious 17 (where Luda's scooter is sabotaged in a Safe Way and he crashes into the pork section). I'd like to see him start something we desperately need these days, Bullshitters Anonymous.

 

I'm sure he'll try and write a memoir in a few years about his drug problem or whatever other excuse he comes up with.
