I was called for Jury duty some years back. There was a dress code, absolutely no shorts and no flops, shoes were required. However when calling before hand it was discovered that I was allowed to wear sandals as long as they were secured in the back. Since being in a court setting is a intimidating atmosphere, I wore shoes the day and had sandals inside a backpack with me the day I had to report. When getting seated in the juror room I noticed this female wearing the exact same sandals I had with me. So, I sat down, placed my backpack in front of my feet, discretely removed my my shoes and socks and placed my sandals on. This was in Arizona. When we were called inside the courtroom I noticed the jury box was not visible to others in the court, but I kept the sandals on just in case. As it turned out I didn't serve on a case due to not getting compensated from my employers during jury service.
Thanks I tried and they said no bare feet you must wear shoes I told them I’m a barefooter and I haven’t worn shoes in over 32 years .
