very nationalistic. Won’t see the Red, White and Blue flying at my house. The American flag is an idol and I do not worship or pledge allegiance to it.
As a foreigner this is what i primarily think of indeed when this date is mentioned. One of my fav movies as a kid
my "alligeince" is to the limitless diversity of an infinite universe (or near enough to it) wish pretty lights in the sky weren't all about making noise, and more painting actual pictures with different colors of fire. and i'm sorry but that flag IS an ugly color scheme. and its never been what it claims to be and did horrible things to people already here, just because they were already here. but what it claims to be, what it claims to want to be, yes that was a great and wonderful idea, and still could be. i don't think cynicism helps any more the blind affection though. a name is no more then a name, and need carry no baggage of either emotion. and as for names, i'd rather not have 574 of them replaced by someone who never saw the place, just because he drew a map that was mostly fantasy. i neither hate nor love, but can and do imagine a better way, simply by dropping all the drama that comes from hating logic and the rest of it. holy is a plant, that has nothing to do with days off, and wholly is in the eye of the beholder, but can be found and revered everywhere. for me there is the magic of secret places in the forest. this is a more immediate thing then large crowds and lots of noise that gratify nothing. i will hear distant noises in the sky as i do every year. actually every saturday evening in this insane town where i live, that has no central commercial district but a bunch of useless casinos where any sensible town would have one. yes there well be idiots of questionable moral character flaunting their egos and imagining themselves agrandized by associating themselves with things for which they earn less credit for, then more sensible people who protest them. they will be elsewhere. i will not be seeking to join them, but i will be and am, thankful for the free bus week. there are no great countries, but there can be good and enjoyable things that have nothing to do with them, nor with politics, ideology, economics nor belief. enjoyable for all their quiet modesty, like trees, trains computers and little furry creatures. a more considerate world would be a better world. a less considerate nation and world would not.
Best thing is this Beautiful song by the Boss (hope you guys that Do celebrate it have a nice time !)
In my experience, more Americans celebrate st Patrick's day than 4th July. Asda ( Walmart uk) tried celebrating independence day a few years ago.. very funny tbh.. the staff refused to put the decorations up unless they promised to do st George's day the following year, they said no.. so the decorations went to waste..
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
According to Alex Jones on his website info wars and prison planet.com, the Democrats are planning to launch a second Civil War on the 4th of July and revolt against President Donald Trump. That’s why the tanks were brought up to protect both Washington DC and President Trump from a Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer led democratic uprising and insurrection.
