wow! you can really really tell you are a child of the bush administration.... how insecure can a person get? :mickey:

saying "i'm glad i live in a place that..." isn't the moral high ground, it's saying "i'm glad i live in a place that" if you want to read that as "i'm glad i live here and not elsewhere, because here is better than where you live" that's your problem ... but i see no reason to have a pop at me because of something you are imagining

if you are so concerned about how the USA acts that you have to counter anything i say is happening in the UK with the US accomplishments and any UK "failings" that you can think of ... i suggest you take a more active role in your local politcs, or maybe to some volunteer work.. anything that directs the energy that drives so strong an anxiety about the state of your own country in a postive manner ... sorry to say but playing "my country is better than yours" with a total stranger, who mostly couldn't care less how american christians conduct themselves, isn't positive at all

and just so the post stays vaguely on topic, not that i think it'll sink in this time when it hasn't the half dozen other times.... but they were not hiding behind their religion, they were saying "we are christians, this is what we believe, judge us" and they were judged ... but only on a human level, not a biblical one :sunny:

i'm not deluded at all ....... it seems more you are less inclined to take into account that they were christians and used their religion as "justification" in a court of law

It's too bad that you can't read, it's a very useful skill to have when one is arguing by way of text.

Around here we have GED programs. Maybe you do too. They're usually free.

why do you say that i can't read here (telling someone in text that they can't read, that's very funny :D ) yet comment with the negative rep you sent me that i am deliberately ignoring syd's posts in the thread? i'm assuming that telling me that i can't read is just a cheap pop to compensate for the fact that you are disapointed that i don't bother to furnish comprehensive answers to those who seem incapable of having a discussion about religion the law and their place in society without using profanity and insults? Anyhoo, i sent you some postive rep. You seem to have enough negativity in your life already

wow.. syd telling me to shut the fuck up ... you telling me i can't read ... seems i really caught a nerve here :sunny:

it's a shame people can't debate without resorting to insults :( but then, it was always a topic some people were going to struggle with ... that was the point of posting it

By the law being on our side do you mean physical law? If you mean statutory law, then no it is not on our side, in fact it makes everyone suspect.
    On the question of sociology,
I don't think there is anything that does not contribute but more pointedly, it depends on how and when we apply our studiousness, doesn't it?

I'm glad to live in a world where gay and other issues are accepted and understood more each day. Christians on the whole get on my tripe, I play classical organ so I often have to get permission to go into a church for a few hours practice, there is certainly a wide range of 'Christian' attitudes out there but they all seem to hold to the idea that you have to be religious in one way or another. Its probably as well if they can't adopt imho

AHA HOW DOES IT FEEL?! I'm so glad a ruling like this came out because I've known a lot of domestic partnerships that had to deal with the bullshit thrown at them when wanting a child. KARMA CHRISTIAN BITCHES!!!!! ehem sorry just had to let that one out lol

GFY!! The churches throw it at EVERYONE, and bullshit is the right word! I've played for weddings in the same church for 11 years, only one of the couples is still together

No, I was contrasting you talking others down for resorting to insults, when you said that.

As you surly know, the bush administration was greatly resented, as was the fact that they where representing america, for a full two terms, from the point they stole their FIRST election.

if you take offence at political references that's your problem.. you have your own opinion on my posts of course, it's a public forum... but does how i directly communicate with someone on a thread really concern you so much?

i don't really know what point you are trying to make with me in this thread roorshack, the only time you have talked to me directly has been to criticise me personally and not once address the topic at hand

and while i'm sure it's fun for you .... it's not really doing a lot for me
