thanks, i know, thats what i have been doing, i hang it in front of the sun as soon as I awaken, sun also disinfects your futon, it keeps it germ free
I think that it is not so necessary. The best option is to buy a good mattress, for example memory foam mattress like here. It made with special polyurethane material designed to increase the foam’s viscosity and density. Memory foam mattresses are different to other mattresses because they distribute weight more evenly and can offer additional support. So it is very good for sleep and body health...That's my opinion.

I would stay away from foam mattrasses because lots of microbes will enter and populate it. A foam mattress is a wonderful breeding place for microbes because it is dark, moist and warm inside + they have all your dead skin cells and sweat (which you shed every night) to feed upon. I would stay away from any synthetic materials because of the foresaid reasons. I hope I could help. Oh btw I sleep much better and wake up more refreshed ever since im doing that. Body also feels stronger because of the harder surface.
