But i think there is a definition issue here. Perhaps in america Catholics and baptists and orthadox are not considered christian, but here in australia, and from waht i gather from the english, they are other christian churches. Any church that follows the 66 books of the bible is christian. they all worship christ as the son of god. Jesus is as much as important part of catholisism as it is to other christian churches, unless its a differernt church in america.

And in my response i am very likely going to use many anaolgies. i have not neglected any points purposefully, so you, out of courtousy, or at least as a good christian, should respond to mine. i refer to hte noah's forum when i say that its your philosophy that avoidance is admitting defeat.

 

Do Christians ask for proof of God's existence? I thought it was a question of faith. And by the same token, there is no proof that God does't exist. So proof either way is something that simply doesn't exist. There is a strong argument however for intelligent design behind this universe, and modern scientific theories have completely failed to refute such arguments.

You say Christians are f*****g idiots, but your own posts don't reflect a very high intelligence. I am sure you can spell perfectly well, but you choose not to, and then expect others to take seriously your points and criticisms. If you have points you would like answered, then give us a simple and clear list of these points, because the nature of your critique is not at all obvious from your previous posts. Beyond just flaming Christians! Confusion is what comes through most of all.

Why no swearing here? As a matter of respect for others who may be offended. But maybe you are setting out to offend?

"america" -the united states of america- certainly has (& has had since colonial days) a majority of nominal christians... exactly what & who a christian is, well, sometimes it depends on who you are asking, i suppose...
however, the framers of the constitution were careful not to create this country with a built-in state religion (as the anglican church was in england for quite a while, with various "dissenters" actually persecuted for attempting to practice their beliefs; and even countries like denmark, where when the king converted (from "everybody's church" roman catholicism) to lutheranism, well everybody converted, heh...) - and many of the founding fathers of america would definitely not have considered themselves to be christians...
but america has been just fizzing with religious fervour for more almost 400 years... and still is one of the most religious (& religiously diverse) nations on this globe...
of course, part of the constitutional victory of the deist-camp folks was the armed standoff between the various christian denominations of the time - none of them ever had a clear majority...
now, as to whether the usa is "actually" filled with a bunch of believing christians (versus perhaps professsing, nominal, C&E, or no longer active)(& ignoring that many (too many?) christian groups are willing to say them other guys aren't "real christians" - (of course, we all do it, but the lists of "in vs out" varies, eh? )...)

anyways, why are people so often singling out christians? (why not "monotheists" or some such label - maybe "children of abraham", mmmm? of course, that might include muslims, too!)(but then you'd be leaving out all the non-monotheists - hinuds, buddhists, parsis, buddhists, taoists, "native religions", marxists , sikhs, & a buncha other folks that you could poke fun at & call nasty names as well... whaddya say?)
anyways, christians - some are wonderful folks, some maybe not so wonderful... really quite a diverse group... and there's a couple billions of 'em (of us, whatever...), so there's plenty of room for different flavors...

and yull find i mentioned in many caeses religion in general, or jsut god, which refers to all monotheistic religions. all religions have the same basis, jsut some have more follows and so are accredited with more 'evidence'. so i tend to bunch them all up unless tlaking about values or ethics issues.
