^ One of the early examples of "diss song" which John Lennon wrote as an insult to Paul McCartney. Is there other tunes like this?

"So How do you sleep you ****?" < that's a strong attack line John wrote.

As a Beatles fanatic, It really was shocking to hear Paul a C*nt as the tension and break up affected the whole band with George Harrison on guitar.
John Lennon wrote this song is response to Paul McCartney's "Too Many People" off the Ram album which dissed John and Yoko.
As others have mentioned, my other fave Bob Dylan can really be brutally honest and comical in a good way if you have the sense of humor for certain ones.
So glad that Lennon and McCartney made amends before his death.

    Love the Dylan suggestions.
"We are idiots babe, it's a wonder that we still know how to breathe"
"Someone's got it in for me"....whole song is awesome

Stones; Beatles; Dylan - so main stream.
Appreciate each in their own rights as "fabric" of our lives but
Robert Fripp; Steve Winwood; David Byrne
Jorma Kaukonen; Leo Kottke; Elvin Bishop
Stanley Clarke; Al DiMeola; John Lee Hooker
Stephen Stills; Steve Miller; Alvin Lee; Joe Walsh
The Kinks; Nirvana; The Animals; Jefferson Airplane

Many - Many More .. Many Many More!!!!!!!

Lennon softened his stance in the mid 1970s and said that he had written the song about himself. He stated in 1980: "I used my resentment against Paul … to create a song … not a terrible vicious horrible vendetta … I used my resentment and withdrawing from Paul and The Beatles, and the relationship with Paul, to write 'How Do You Sleep'. I don't really go 'round with those thoughts in my head all the time"

There's a theory that the Beatles song 'And Your Bird Can Sing' is a Mick Jagger diss.
