I understand the peanut butter part, but the lips? Are you complimenting my lucious lips? lol

It's been a day or two past 4 months since I've stopped brushing. I'm not too certain on the progress. I took some quick pictures with my celly.

Right now it just seems like a big mess. There's some little dreads in the back I can definitely feel, at the hairline. I can feel what seems to be little dreads throughout my entire head, but there's still just so much loose hair you can't tell.

Washing about once a week. Using only water, maybe an ACV rinse once a month, spraying on a mixture of saltwater and lemon juice maybe 2 or 3 times week -- when I know I'm going to be outside for a lengthy amount of time, basically.

It seems like years almost. I'm not rushing the process or anything, I'm going to stick to natural, but it seems when I get really stoned, I get horribly bummed and discouraged about my hair not being a full, mature set of fatties. It get's so depressing sometimes. lol

I wonder if the ACV might be a bit too conditioning for this stage? Then again, you don't do it often and those sprays should balance it out... *shrug* :)

I'm with amy, drop the acv unless you just really love it. what do you wash with?

not everyone puts rubberbands in and waxes...

I know whatcha mean. When my neighbor asked me how long I had had dreads (after nearly 7 months of no brushing) I got so excited that I started babbling and didn't make much sense. You'll get there. Stay strong in the meantime.

I only use the ACV when my scalp is extremely sweaty or I've got dandruff. Typically, I was with nothing but water.

Thanks :D I don't mind it when I get the compliment. I get it a lot actually. Since I've stopped brushing, my curls have only become more defined, abundant and tight/springy.

Today I might possibly bust out the big camera to get some more detailed pictures. If not today, tomorrow.

i was using a mixture of saltwater and lemon juice 2 or 4 times week between months 2 and 3, this past month i have not used anything but for the shampoo from DHHQ and i have noticed a big change in my progress. you might want to stop using the mixture for a month and see how that works for you. tomorrow i will be updating my thread since tomorrow will be 4 months for me and you can see what i mean about the difference since i stop using the mixture.

are you going to let yours congo into big fat dreads or keep them kinda small?

I might go ahead and stop using it and just stick to plain water for washing with no rinses, unless my scalp gets all nasty and slimy.

Right now I'm just letting them do their own thing - not trying to interfere too much. I don't want any huge congos, so depending on how big the congos are, I may or may not let them.

There's a lot going on, but I'm too lazy to take pictures of it all. It's hard taking pictures of yourself.

It's easier to see some of the dreading in the pics with my hair pulled back. In the other ones, it just all looks like a windy days dream.

It'll be 5 months in a few days....I think. I don't remember the "official" day.

    :cheers2:

You need to take all of your pics outside in the sunlight, bro. Much easier to see those ;)

    Looking good though!!

I was having trouble with the lighting. I was using my sisters camera she let me borrow because I can't find mine.
